One of Europe’s oldest temperature series goes back 300 years: Berlin-Dahlem.

Readers will note the mean temperatures were warmer than they are today. The 1990s and 2000s were similarly warm as they were in the mid 1700s.

Moreover, the long-term trend was downward from 1760 to 1990, despite atmospheric CO2 having risen since 1850.

Since that goes back to when the thermometer was invented, that's pretty much some of the oldest direct-measurement temperature data the world has. IOW, Warmistas are making tenths-of-a-degree predictions about a millennia-long phenomenon with just 3 centuries of direct-measurement data. And a weather stations network that has been truly worldwide for about half a century and maybe less.

Some extrapolative data has also shown that the earth was actually warmer 1000-1050 a.d.  Warm enough for the Norse colonization of Greenland.
