Chinese Reds set a trap for Trump

President Trump is in a difficult situation. If he were to disclose circumstantial evidence that the coronavirus virus is a Chinese bioweapon, there would be calls for retaliation against the Communist regime. Such a declaration could lead to more fear, the threat of war, and perhaps a global economic collapse. As it is, the virus is causing a market meltdown. He does not want to contribute to a panic and further collapse.

Politically, his reelection hangs in the balance.

Aside from Senator Tom Cotton, China experts such as Steven Mosher and Gordon Chang, and the newspaper The Epoch Times, few people in politics or the media are asking the hard questions about whether the virus is a weapon of war.

Emperors, Militarists and now Communists imposed their will on the Chinese for some 5000 years, essentially eradicating their natural human spirit of inquiry and creativity.
So unsurprisingly, the Chinese cheat, lie and steal; traits of which Trump appears oblivious.
Now he he must either confront their deceit and dishonor, angering them or ignore this
behavior while praying for a medical miracle.
Guess here is that the disruptive economic impact of COVIR will be far more deadly than
its medical impact just as our election approaches.

The Chinese could well have been combining different things together to see what the results were and what they could do using different techniques. Not necessarily building a bio-weapon. The Chinese have a culture of cutting corners to get ahead. Cutting corners with biological pathogen experiments is a bad combination.

More likely than being a bio-weapon accidentally escaping the lab is a Chinese pharmaceutical company releasing the virus in order to sell a coronavirus vaccine for which they had a patent.

DB, as you're well aware, Man is naturally inquisitive; the spark behind his creative impulse.
This is the true catalyst behind "progress", in all its manifestations.
If a culture represses the inquisitive impulse in Man, because it fears ideas contrary to its
dogma/ideology, it stagnates intellectually eventually declining and disappearing.
The Chinese response is to cheat, lie and steal.

Just curious: Does the correct answer need to be that China is engaged in a vast conspiracy?

For years we have had flus. Medical science does the best, to provide vaccines.  We call them "flu shots." We (usually) don't run around every year, hair on fire, accusing China of conspiracy.

Is this one, or is this one not, just another periodic flu? Apparently a serious one.

I  intend, for now, to wait longer for some science, instead of speculation about conspiracy.

OTOH could China be preparing means to wipe out a large, selected religious minority, or just hold out the possibility of such capabilitiess?

Wouldn't  the US be wise, to secretly undertake similar offensive  means, and defensive antidotes?

And if major powers were engaged in such research, wouldn't it be merely another variety of "MAD" for mutially assured destruction.


Who stands to benefit the MOST from panics of various types?

Who is harmed the MOST?  (American 401 Ks)

In that case, it's not such a good idea to "let the bug go" until you have your vaccine finished and ready to go, as well...!
