Why the Trump-Russia intelligence report doesn't quite add up
by Tom Rogan  | February 21, 2020 07:10 AM

The New York Times reported on Thursday that "intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get President Trump re-elected."

I'm not convinced that gives full context to the briefing. I suspect a Democratic member asked a briefer something along the lines of, "Do you assess that Russia is trying to reelect Trump?" The briefer then probably offered a hedged response in the affirmative. I believe the core of the briefing was likely situated around an assessment that Russia is preparing to ramp up efforts to undermine the election and U.S. civil society.

That's very different from that which the New York Times report implies: a high-confidence national intelligence assessment that Russia is interfering to see Trump triumph over any and all of the Democratic presidential primary field.

It makes no sense to me for Russia to mess with the Dems, because the Dems are doing it themselves extremely well.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I can imagine Russians trying to sow chaos - they always have. But why would Russia prefer nationalist Trump to a socialist rat?

Doesn't pass the giggle test.

Side note, this is written by Tom Rogan,

Washington Post has a Josh Rogin I believe, slight change in how the name is spelled and surely viewpoints. I never would have noticed this before.

So, there's a good and maybe a bad one.

Unnamed people making unverifiable claims about what unnamed intelligence officials reported about a classified briefing that was leaked to the media by people who weren't even there.

This is what passes for "journalism" today.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

I have an old adage, "It's always easier to create instability than it is to build stability."

The Russians don't care who gets elected, it's the mischief itself that is the point of what they're doing.  It's probably more than coincidence the Rats joined in the mischief to create the chaos of Impeachment.  We can count on Russian interference in whatever manner coaxes the Rats into going back to the hate-board for four more years.

I'm cool with that.
