Why Russia's Navy Just Can't Compete With America's Anymore

Falling behind.
by Michael Peck

Key point: Moscow just can't afford the cost of keeping up with Washington. Moreover, Russia is predominantly a land power and does not have experience succesfully building supercarriers.

Russia’s Navy is falling behind the U.S. Navy in combat power, according to Russian defense press.

The Russian Navy’s combat capability was just 45 percent of the U.S. Navy’s according to an analysis by flot.com, a Russian defense Web site [English translation here]. This is down from 47 percent in 2017 and 52 percent in 2014.

Russia's Navy is not now and never has been a threat to the United States.
The biggest most powerful Navy in the world today is in China.
And they can give the U.S. a run for their money.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

Mostly because Russia doesn't even try to compete with the US Navy anymore. They have more immediate and important things to spend their money on.

They can afford to do this because they KNOW the US will never launch a first strike against them, which in effect means that no one is going to launch a first strike against them that can do them any real harm.

Truth to tell,we could stand a major cutback on the size of our Navy, also. We don't do it because of all the screams of outrage in states where there are large Naval bases,or where there are factories that manufacture items for sale to the Navy. Doesn't  have a single damn thing to do with national security needs, and everything to do with jobs programs in states with influential congresscritters.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
