Which is exactly what I said here yesterday IIRC @mystery-ak
An analogy I used earlier today. Trump's intent of rooting out mass corruption by the Biden family for delayed funding? That's like arresting someone for jaywalking while they are trying to save a toddler in the middle of the road.
Steve Cohen@RepCohen · Jan 25Dershowitz is a criminal defense lawyer, not a constitutional scholar. That’s why he represented Jeffery Epstein, OJ, & Claus von Bulow. 17 constitutional law professors wrote an open letter explaining that his #impeachment defense defies legal consensus.http://democracy21.org/wp-content/upl

The legislature is not the ultimate arbiter of its own power...
Alan Dershowitz, 1-27-2020, before the United States Senate in the Impeachment Trial of Donald John TrumpThought I should make it big and bright enough for people to see and remember it!
I think the tact taken by the defense team today might have driven a stake through the calls for more witnesses. Half those senators are probably helping themselves in some manner similar to the Bidens, and thanks to the defense team's presentation, most are probably not keen to have this particular characteristic of life in DC receive any more attention than its already gotten.
And of course... most of us here are no doubt torn on this issue. On one hand... we want to see the Bidens, Pelosi, Kerry, etc., corruption exposed for all to see. But on the other hand, we want this fiasco of a sham over with.... since it never should have been allowed to begin. I'm leaning towards the 'over with asap', since even if/when the corruption of the rats is exposed, nothing whatsoever will ever happen to them re: consequences or accountability.
