New York synagogue stabbing attack results in several injuries: reports

A stabbing attack Saturday night at a synagogue in a suburb north of New York City has left several people injured, according to reports.

Video posted on social media from Monsey – a town of about 18,000 residents about 35 miles north of New York City – shows emergency responders rushing victims to ambulances, surrounded by the flashing red lights of numerous emergency vehicles.

Please pray for the families of the victims in Monsey and the entire Jewish community in New York, who are suffering again at the hands of anti-Semitic attackers. We must stand together against anti-Semitism and do more to defend our Jewish brothers and sisters from this evil.

In Rockland County last night, during a Chanukah celebration at a synagogue a man stormed in with a machete and stabbed at least five victims, who were taken to the hospital. This is the latest in a string of antisemitic attacks in the New York City area, coming in the wake of the tragic killing of four people during an attack on a Jewish grocery store in Jersey City.

These two acts of violence this month have brought renewed attention to the sharp uptick in anti Jewish violence that has quietly held New York City in its grip over the past few years. Sadly, Mayor Bill de Blasio, who spent much of the year more concerned with his farcical run for president than protecting the citizens of his own city, and the state governments of New York and New Jersey have, been flatfooted in addressing the growing concern.

Like I said I’m terrible at geography. I instantly thought of Ramapo State College in Mahwah NJ.

That’s where I got confused. NJ has a HS and a college named Ramapo in upstate NJ. ANd a state park in Bergen county. NY   has a town named Ramapo.
