Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared that the United States is “not an advanced society” and is devolving into a fascist country while campaigning alongside presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in Los Angeles Saturday.

“Establishing a loving society in the United States of America” isn’t an “irrational, overly feeling, sympathetic statement,” Ocasio-Cortez said. Instead, it’s part of an ongoing mission to achieve “an advanced society,” she argued, citing past remarks by Harvard University professor and fellow Sanders surrogate Cornel West.

 Our economy leads the world. As far as medical innovation, the US leads the world. What she means here is that people like her are not planning other peoples lives like in other “advanced societies”

You're a long ways away from da Bronx, Pete.
In that congressional district, anyone in the general election with the "D" next to their name will be elected.

The REAL race (if there's to be one) is the democrat-communist primary election. Whoever wins that, wins the district.

So it will be in 2020.
If the occassional-communist is primaried, and if she loses, she's out.
But if she beats any challengers, she holds the seat.

That's until she makes the move towards senator... or governor.

AOC got I believe 18% of the electorate vote in her district in the last election.  She will have two people running against her in the primary, and it is my hope they do not split the anti AOC vote which allows her to get re-elected.

However, no matter what many want in her regard, she is not going anywhere any time soon.  I suspect she easily gets re-elected, and when she is ready, she will challenge or replace Schumer when he leaves office.  He is 69, and I do not see him being a senator when he is Pelosi's age.
