The wife of an American diplomat will be charged in the death of a British teenager, according to the family’s spokesman.

Harry Dunn died in an Aug. 27 wreck after a car collided with his motorcycle near the Royal Air Force Croughton station, which is operated by the U.S. Air Force. Police said a car traveling on the wrong side of the road hit Dunn head-on.

The suspect in the collision, Anne Sacoolas, 42, fled the United Kingdom after the crash and has been protected by diplomatic immunity.

London (CNN)Anne Sacoolas, the wife of a US diplomat, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving in the case of Harry Dunn, the British teenager who was killed in August.

Motorcyclist Dunn, 19, died in a crash outside a military base in central England controlled by the US Air Force.

The UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said in a statement Friday that it has now started extradition proceedings.

Good, as she should be charged, diplomatic immunity should only go so far.
