EXCLUSIVE: Israeli military ‘secretly training' Libya’s Haftar militias in street warfare

Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar has been secretly meeting with Israeli intelligence officials, resulting in the Israeli military training militias loyal to Haftar in “street warfare”, Libyan and Egyptian sources have revealed to The New Arab’s Arabic-language service.

A security cooperation agreement between the two sides gave rise to Egypt coordinating the transfer of specialised Israeli officers to Haftar-controlled territories in Libya to carry out the training in August and September of 2019.

I have been following this. This does not speak for others who may not have but all of a sudden, it seems like the Haftar forces are the ones that are the "good guys", okay, they may be "good guys" but it seems they may have committed some warcrimes via a UAE war plane bombing a refugee camp over there, maybe a few other acts.

This is the ultimate proxy war, the next paragraph in the article reads:

While the LNA and the eastern Libyan government are backed by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, France and Russia, the Tripoli-based GNA is supported by Italy, Turkey and Qatar.

France on one side, Italy on the other. And not only that,  rumor is, maybe even Greece might get in on the action on the "Egypt/Saudi Arabia/UAE/France/Russia" side. 

So, quite a bit going on here.   Also, per sources, there seems to be a chance, Turkey would send troops to here, so far, the support Turkey is giving is likely limited. So, in this way, we have a mini-World War going on here and lots of militias at least from Africa over there, Sudan.

And the United States does NOT seemed to be involved in helping either side but we have had air attacks on ISIS militias there a few times. Good thing.

This map is not labelled, it really doesn't seem to tell us much without explanation.

Libya to Send List of 800 Russian Mercenaries to Moscow – AP

Libya’s internationally recognized government plans to present a list of up to 800 Russian mercenaries fighting for its opponents to Russian officials, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

Tripoli has accused Moscow of escalating the conflict in the oil-rich North African nation following reports of at least two deployments of Kremlin-linked Wagner mercenaries in recent months. Forces loyal to eastern commander Khalifa Haftar launched an offensive this spring, with Wagner’s reported help, to seize Tripoli from Libya’s UN-backed government.

Libya’s government has found between 600 and 800 Russian mercenaries fighting for Haftar, the AP reported, citing Khaled al-Meshri, the head of the UN-backed government’s advisory body.
