Prof. William Happer resigns over Climate Change

A chief critic of the climate crisis, William Happer left his post as a senior director on the National Security Council in September of this year.

Happer’s departure came a day after National Security Adviser John Bolton abruptly resigned amid a dispute with President Trump over holding negotiations with the Taliban. A committed ally to Happer and his work, Bolton saw that it was important to break through the dogma presently paralyzing the National Climate Assessment on issues as wide-ranging as sovereignty and food security, but to no avail.

An accomplished physicist at Princeton University, Happer was one of the strongest voices against the current climate consensus within the administration. He’s famous for his comments about the world being in a carbon dioxide “drought” and for advocating that the burning of more fossil fuels would aid humanity by greening the planet and making it more habitable — a claim vehemently opposed by the present orthodoxy of the IPCC and other bodies, but strongly supported by historical data.

Happer founded the CO2 Coalition, which has sought to expand its influence on Capitol Hill by briefing members of Congress on the benefits of CO2 emissions.
