To say the least, it was sooo HOT...upset so many @musiclady 's that I requested it be DELETED.   Not locked.  Deleted.

So there ain't no end of worthy gingers... It's the strawberry blondes that tend to get to me the most... Or the ones that tend to come out of native stock with long raven black hair...  Love me a Salish woman...

My main encounter with a mega ginger was my buddy Kenny O'Conner's sister Marcia. Her daddy's Irish, and her mamma a classic Spanish Mexican gal...

How I loved me that auburn haired beauty.... Green eyes, porcelain skin, with those high Spanish cheekbones and long legs... But Irish-Mexican... It is an understatement to say her passions ruled her. Her passions ruled everything, for miles around. Loving her was a rodeo ride... But you REALLY didn't want to piss that woman off... Which turned out was a bad match for me, to say the least. All that daintiness and poise was a damn lie. I swear I would be worried about leaving loaded guns around, except that she would scoff at such an easy end of things.

I have a tendency to go my own way, and that pisses women off fairly regularly... So if I am gonna stay, that can't be the nuclear option... So sadly, I had to mosey. 

And that tends to ever be the case tween gingers and me.

Lots of views, I think it was a hit over there... one doesn't hear this much where I've heard Classic Rock but it does vary by region I think. Boston and New York seem more connected to the British and maybe in this case, Irish groups.

Late in the Beatles’ time together as a band, John Lennon grew dead-tired of Paul McCartney’s whimsical, bouncy pop songs. In fact, John began openly mocking songs like “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” for all studio personnel to hear. (He called these tunes Paul’s “granny music s**t.”)

While laying down tracks for Abbey Road the following year, Paul ran into a lot of resistance from the other Beatles during the lengthy sessions for “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.” John, who was still recovering from a car accident, opted out of the recording altogether.

The Beatles never knew what they’d get when John Lennon introduced a new song. When he debuted “Strawberry Fields Forever” late in 1966, everyone present was knocked out by his new track. “It was obvious this new Lennon song was a masterpiece,” engineer Geoff Emerick recalled.

he following year, John’s unfathomably creative mind struck again with “What’s the New Mary Jane,” a track deemed too weird for The White Album. He didn’t slow down for 1969’s Let It Be and Abbey Road sessions, either.

On the hit single “Come Together,” you hear John repeating what sounds like “shoot” or “shoop” throughout the song. In fact, he was saying, “Shoot me.” The line has baffled casual fans and Beatles obsessives alike over the years.

Thanks @PeteS in CA  for your posting of the HH songs but I think "No Milk Today" really is a classic that reaches beyond the usual Hermits fan, kind of one of those special songs imho.. just in my humble opinion and I know this guy very familiar with rock on a pretty comprehensive basis and he mentions that song. I think it is a cut above most of their others.

This might be my 2nd favorite by them... it's hard to say. We've been saturated with their mega-hits which "Henry VIII" was....

On amazon, this was about 10 years ago, there was a guy who claimed he was Peter Noone at some reviews of HH albums. He sounded legit but who knows. He didn't post a lot, he was complaining about what might have been, say reincarnations of the Herman's Hermits and their CDs which did not include him.

Yes, in short, I was a bit of a British Invasion guy, it's still great to listen too, I got some of the Rhino British Invasion CDs. there have been plenty of these kinds of releases from different companies actually.

Rhino released a series on the British Invasion.



I heard this next song on the radio and I had to get a copy of it, still sounds good.

Tom Springfield, Dusty's brother wrote this.... Tom also wrote one of the Seekers big songs, I think "I'll Never Find Another You"...

So, knowing this, I think the Seekers and the original Springfields are similar types of singing groups. Tom wrote other stuff, one would have to look it up. And believe it or not, Dusty sang in another group, I think a girl group, even before this album.
