Lindsey Graham: "Why Did They Change The Rules" Allowing Whistleblowers To Cite Hearsay? "This Thing Stinks"
Posted By Tim Hains
On Date September 29, 2019

Senator Lindsey Graham joined CBS's "Face The Nation" host Margaret Brennan to talk about the impeachment inquiry launched into President Trump this week.

"This seems to me like a political setup," Graham said about the whistleblower report that led Democrats to launch the inquiry. "It's all hearsay. You can't get a parking ticket conviction based on hearsay. The whistle-blower didn't hear the phone call."

"Every American deserves to confront their accuser. So this is a sham, as far as I'm concerned. I want to know who told the whistle-blower about the phone call. I want to know why they changed the rules about whistle-blowers not -- the hearsay rule was changed just a short period of time before the complaint was filed," Graham wondered.

I dunno. Why don't you issue a few subpoenas and find out, Mr Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee?

And just what the hell good would that do?  The Senate has zero power to prosecute anyone for anything.  ALL they can do is make yet another referral.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

Why? Because this latest charge is a set up, just as every ploy the deep state has tried so far has been a set up.

They think we’re stupid.

No, but it would damn sure be a start, instead of running to the closest camera and mouthing platitudes.

With all due respect @skeeter, no it isn't!  Getting people elected is a public relations game but getting people convicted for crimes is 100% a legal game and sadly we have very few playing on our side now IMHO.

It IS a PR game, @Bigun. Politics rule, and so there will never be accountability without public support.

That goes double on the rat side.

Thats just a sad, plain fact.

If that's true @skeeter we have already lost but I do not believe it is true.  Close but not there yet IMHO.

If a "Senate court of law", is anything like a criminal court of law, it's things like this that make me think the case would be almost laughed out of court

The rats couldn't impeach Nixon until they had built up a critical mass of public opinion. And that was in '73.

The republicans tried to nail Clinton without public support and paid for it - and he was guilty as hell.

The rat media is trying to do the same to Trump. They're about to find out that not even they can just pull the trigger without public backing.

Impeachment is a POLITIC thing @skeeter!  Always has been and always will be.  And the "Crime" can be anything the party in power says it is.  That is NOT how things work in the courts!  At least it wasn't for a very long time.

I understand. I hope the justice system as it will be applied to the elite in DC is worthy of the faith you have in it.

And I will happily join you in that hope! Especially since we have little else we can hope for.

   In March, when the deadline for GOP insurgents against Lady Lindsey passes he will turn on you Trumpers like he always has, in classic McCain style.  He is not to be trusted at all.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Whether it matters or not, Graham, former judge, is in his element. I don't see him running.  March?

I sure as hell don't trust him.   He may have been 'correct' when combating the Kavanaugh lynching attempt... but even a broken clock is right twice a day.   It was probably a fluke.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
This is the key, crux, fulcrum, center - call it what you will.

For this complaint to pass, the rules had to be changed, and it all revolves around Schiffty and how he orchestrated this.

Timeline is everything to expose this fraud.
The Republic is lost.

@skeeter

I am just guessing,but my best guess is because he knows they wouldn't show up,or would show up and then ask questions instead of answer questions. In other words,if they DID show up it would be about leftist political theater instead of testifying.

His only resort would be to order them arrested for contempt,and we all know no DC federal cop is going to cuff  them.

@skeeter

And there will be no public support because the news crews,both video and print whose job it is to record it will be Dim activists who will either refuse to accurately report it,if they report it at all.

Everybody here is a political activist,but the typical American isn't,and only starts really playing attention to politics maybe 30 days before the vote.

@Cyber Liberty

"Lawyers representing the whistleblower behind the explosive complaint involving President Trump's efforts to persuade Ukraine’s president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter expressed concern for their client's safety in a letter to lawmakers released Sunday."

Don't know how they will keep that person "unknown" to the public.  His/her life will be threatened due to the high level of anger on both sides.

I haven't made a comment about the whistle blower and Trump/Biden/Biden (both of them).  I want evidence/facts, before commenting.  I do know by doing a little research, the Biden case was closed before the Ukraine prosecutor was made to quit by other countries and this country working together.

I also have this statement for you: I want to know how one gets on the board of this Ukrainian gas company, so I will get $50,000 a month.   :thud:

@TomSea

You said, "If a "Senate court of law", is anything like a criminal court of law, it's things like this that make me think the case would be almost laughed out of court."

Impeachment and conviction goes like this:
The House impeachment only takes a simple majority vote to impeach.

Then it goes to the Senate for "court".  The senators are the jury, the House select members going there are the prosecution and present the case.  The Judge is the Chief Supreme Court Justice.
