Chandrayaan-2: PM Modi proud despite Moon landing failure

The mission's lift-off was broadcast live to an audience of hundreds of millions
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told his country's space scientists he was proud of a programme that had come so near to putting a probe on the Moon.
Contact with Chandrayaan-2 was lost moments before its Vikram module was due to touch down at the lunar south pole.
The fate of the craft is not yet known, but Mr Modi said there would be further opportunities.
India would have been the fourth nation to make a soft landing on the Moon.

Some might say "what success" and that's proper.
What is a success that India is even doing this.
Larry Elder was giving out stats the other night, how population-wise, the two largest nations on earth, China and India use to be racked with poverty, it was extensive.
Now, (not sure of the exact metrics), India has something like 12% live in poverty, China is way, way down to somewhere in the single digits.
