Trump criticizes Fox which 'isn't working for us anymore'

President Trump on Wednesday tweeted that Fox News has become too hospitable to Democrats and "isn't working for us anymore," arguing his supporters "have to start looking for a new News Outlet."

Trump lashed out in a trio of tweets after a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) appeared on "America's Newsroom." The president cited her interview, the employment of former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazille; Juan Williams, who is also a columnist for The Hill;  and anchor Shepherd Smith to claim the network is biased against him.

"Just watched @FoxNews heavily promoting the Democrats through their DNC Communications Director, spewing out whatever she wanted with zero pushback by anchor,  @SandraSmithFox. Terrible considering that Fox couldn’t even land a debate, the Dems give them NOTHING!" Trump tweeted.

Trump blasted the network as "HOPELESS & CLUELESS" for hiring Brazille, Williams and Smith, each of whom have criticized the president at various times.

"Working for us" is open to two interpretations.  The media reflexively grabs one while Fox viewers understand the other.  OANN should step up because Fox viewers are ripe for the picking.

May have asked this before, but isn't Al-Jazeera connected somehow to One America News Network (OANN)?

No.  Herring Broadcasting, the parent company of OANN, looked into buying Al Jazeera America back in Jan. 2016.  They decided Al-Jazeera wasn't worth the money.  Al Jazeera America's parent company is beIN Media Group headquartered in Qatar.

Exactly.  It was an unfortunate turn of phrase.... (or was it?)....  he meant the "isn't working for us anymore" in the colloquial sense....  the same way that people may say: "I tried that Keto diet for several months, it just isn't working for me anymore...."  or "I tried using some of that fluorocarbon line, it just isn't working for me anymore....."

Now, you may say: Hmmm, Trump ought to be more careful..... doesn't he know that they will twist his words??  However, he may actually do this shit on purpose (at least at times), because it certainly creates a media buzzzzzz......

There was talk of OANN purchasing the US wing of al Jazeera, but I don't know if it came to fruition.  The intent was to pick up the cable slots so OANN could break out of the streaming business into Cable.  I don't think it happened.

Multiple Fox News personalities hit back at President Trump for tweeting that the network is no longer "working for us anymore."

Trump made the initial comments in a Twitter thread he posted Wednesday morning. The thread began as a complaint over anchor Sandra Smith allowing, according to him, Democratic National Committee Communications Director Xochitl Hinojosa to say "whatever she wanted with zero pushback."

He went on to allege that "the New @FoxNews is letting millions of GREAT people down! We have to start looking for a new News Outlet. Fox isn't working for us anymore!"
 
Network senior political analyst Brit Hume responded to the president, saying, "Fox News isn't supposed to work for you." Fox News contributor and Townhall political editor Guy Benson reiterated that sentiment, tweeting, "We don’t work for you."
