Do you think "The Squad," the current House Leadership, would ever say that? It's not Kabuki to these crazies.
Consider this scenario: Trump wins another victory in the Electoral College while losing the popular vote, Senate and House go Democrat. President Art of the Deal does deals with Pelosi & Schumer, because it's in their interest to marginalize the Quad Squad.
I'm saying it's a slight possibility.
I'm no soothsayer, but I think the following is far more plausible: flyover country voters vote their pocketbooks, while being frightened of the Democrats' socialist prescriptions for the US. Biden doesn't have the backbone to stand up to Trump's withering assaults, and Warren appeals to only the most radical Democrats. I contend that millions of Republican voters sat out the midterms last year (I didn't, because I knew Cruz needed my vote), and made it easier for Democrats to score their victories. Those voters will be back for the Presidential election next year.
A continued strong economy and progress on border security will IMO be sufficient to carry Trump to victory next year. I'm not so sure about the Senate, as the Republicans have at least ten more seats to hold than the Democrats.
One recent development has cheered me, the announcement of Beth Van Duyne to run for the seat being vacated by Kenny Marchant. Beth was excellent as Mayor of Irving, and showed real backbone in the Ahmed the Clockmaker saga.
