Trump Was Right: Orkin Lists Baltimore as One of Most Rat-Infested US Cities
Jim Hoft by Jim Hoft July 28, 2019

On Saturday President Trump took to twitter to demand an investigation of Rep. Elijah Cummings and his corrupt and “rat infested” Maryland district.

….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 27, 2019

Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!

Trump needs to be careful here.    The issue is that Baltimore's Democrat leadership is corrupt and inept, and fails to provide basic services.   Not that Baltimore so "rat-infested" that "no human would live there",  a broad and insulting charge that implies that a million folks in this great city (and yes,  Baltimore is a great city) are deplorable and irredeemable.   Let the other side pit ordinary Americans against other ordinary Americans.    We should be focused squarely on the bad actors who run these cities,  not the folks trying to get by day to day.

We are focused on both ... because of the bad actors who run these cities the folks are living in conditions no one should be forced to live in.  Even though it frightens you so, the plight of the people is what shines the light on the corrupt.

What "frightens" me is when Trump takes the germ of a good argument and pushes it too far, allowing the Dems to ignore the substance and obfuscate by labelling Trump (and by implication his supporters) as racist.

Yes, it's low-down politics to keep playing the race card, but it's insane for Trump to enable and encourage it.

He should tell Kushner, his son-in-law, to clean up the thousands of apartments his family owns in Baltimore.  They have been cited for having rats and plumbing problems in their apartments in Baltimore.

How, exactly, is it the landlord's fault if the tenants are trashy?   And I would challenge you to find an apartment building, especially in a large city like Baltimore and especially in a low-income area, that does not have plumbing problems.  But yeah... since the guy is related (by marriage) to someone you hate, he is automatically THE one responsible for the rat problem in Baltimore.  Got it.

Of course the rats will try to spin his comments, there is nothing he could say they wouldn't try to spin, but most are intelligent enough to understand perfectly well Trump was referring to those who've led decaying inner cities for decades.

What he's doing will work, and its about damn time.

Good post. Good points all.

That is exactly why DT's message is not filtered by the media.

There are many who frown on his constant Twittering, but he does that intentionally to bypass his nemesis, the media, who wish to retain the old model of reporting on what he says, so they can twist his words just like you are saying.
