What the heck? 11 people down? That sounds serious but a lot  of times, these stories, usually, they don't amount to much... So, I'm taking this story cautiously.   11 people down sounds horrible.

Also, not serious but a man shot outside synagogue in Miami, the thing is, there's been quite a bit about a synagogue in Miami if one searches the news, they busted someone on I believe a bomb plot in the past few months.

One witness told NBC Bay Area he was on his way out when felt a bullet pass by his head, and when he turned around, he saw everyone running.

Authorities said a shooter appeared to have cut a fence into the festival. Police said a second possible suspect was being sought.

At least three people were killed and 15 other people injured in a shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California, authorities said Sunday night. A suspect was also shot and killed.

"It's sort of a nightmare you hope you never have to live in reality," Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said at a news conference.

Smithee said the suspect appeared to be shooting "somewhat randomly," and that investigators had no information on a possible motive. He said that police believed a second person may have been involved but that they didn't know in what way.

One of those killed was 6-year-old Steven Romerowho was at the festival with this mother and grandmother, who were also injured in the shooting.

Eleven people were transported to two hospitals with gunshot wounds after the shooting at one of the largest food festivals in the United States, said Joy Alexiou, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clara County Public Health System. Three had been treated and released late Sunday, and the rest were in fair to critical condition, she said.

Eight more people were injured in other ways, she said.

GILROY, Calif. (KTVU) - Three people were killed by a gunman at the Gilroy Garlic Festival before police shot and killed him Sunday, the city's police chief said.

Police Chief Scot Smithee said a second suspect could be on the loose and dozens of officers are searching the area. Smithee said the suspect who was killed came into the festival through a nearby creek by cutting through a fence. His name and age were not released.

Smithee said Gilroy police officers were at the festival and "engaged the suspect" within a minute of the gunfire. Smithee did not say how many shots were fired or how many officers fired their guns. He said the suspect was armed with a rifle, but did not elaborate.

It was not immediately clear if the 15 people who were injured were hit by gunfire or injured in other ways.

Gilroy Garlic Festival Shooting Gunman Dead After Killing 3

GILROY, CA — At least one person with a gun killed at least three people at the Gilroy Garlic Festival Sunday evening. At least 15 others were injured though not all of them had been shot. The shooting started around 5:41 p.m. at Christmas Hill Park where the festival takes place.

As of late Sunday night, police had not released information about the shooter or his victims. The family of a 6-year-old boy told KRON4 that he was killed in the incident.

Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said at a Sunday evening news conference that the man believed to be the shooter was killed by police officers. He said that the officers were there within one minute of the incident. A heavy police presence at the festival is normal procedure, according to Smithee.

Chief Smithee added that police believe a second man may have been involved in the incident. He said it's not clear if that person also fired a weapon or was there to help the gunman.

Smithee said it's believed that the men entered the festival by cutting a hole in a fence bordering a street. People who went to the festival through the official entrances had passed through scanners and were subjected to bag searches.

St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center confirmed receiving 11 patients between them. Their conditions ranged from fair to critical.

An official of the Santa Clara County Health System, Joy Alexiou said that some of the patients had been discharged from the hospitals.

St. Louise Hospital is the hospital nearest the shooting. Valley Med Center at that time (festival traffic) probably would have been over an hour drive from Gilroy, though it is very large and could have received helicopters.

Speculating/guessing: The second shooter idea looks doubtful though not eliminated. The shooter took advantage of the fact that crowds of people were leaving, both for targets and for police response to be delayed by the crowds and chaos of fleeing people. It sounds like the shooter may have done his thing without really trying to avoid getting killed.

FOX is giving it total coverage tonight.

KTVU, Channel 2, who I linked and quoted above is a Fox affiliate. It's possible most/all Bay Area stations had crews at the festival covering it as a local festive event.

The dead shooter's name is known to police but has not yet been released. Apparently a news conference is planned for this AM.

3. Police Have Been Searching For the Second Suspect Around the Densely Wooded Park Area Since Sunday Evening & the Feds Are Involved

Police flocked to the scene and were searching several areas around Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy in the hours after the shooting.

Not a whole lot, but he doesn't sound like the kind of shooter the MSM "wants". Sounds like he's in the crazy-angry spectrum or Antifoid wannabe.

Some local color ... the guy is local, and the way he carried out his shooting indicates familiarity both with the geography of the festival area and how the festival is operated. He accessed a perimeter fence via a trail that follows a creek that flows along the eastern border of the park and is adjacent to a parking lot. The park is roughly triangular, and there is wooded area on the two long sides of the triangle. The park is on the western edge of the city, and the wooded area on the western side of the park pretty much leads to rural open space.
