America’s Road to Socialism Has Been Cobbled by Taxation and Debt
By William Sullivan

Every now and again, you’ll hear someone argue that a fundamental transformation of the American economy is necessary because we are in the throes of something called “late-stage capitalism.”  Wealth inequality has reached an unacceptable tipping point, they typically argue, so the only logical solution to this “problem” is to allow the government to disproportionately seize wealth and income from the wealthiest and highest-earning Americans, and then redistribute that wealth to other Americans who need it more. “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,” as the policy prescription popularized by Karl Marx goes.

But what I find most curious about this is that Karl Marx might not necessarily see it this way.  Given what we’ve seen in America for the last hundred years or so, he might more aptly suggest that we are in “early-stage communism,” simply waiting for a revolutionary event to secure “full communism” as America’s “mode of production.”

I really don't think socialism is the big worry, thought I'm sure we'll pass through it in all likelihood.  I believe Islam is the big worry.  Our leaders, and almost all liberals, have shown such a distinct deference to Islam, (maybe it's fear) that Islamist Jihadis are well aware all they have to do is issue a threat or claim "Islamophobia" that the left and rinos will give them whatever they want - including our freedom, the country we grew up in, and the destruction of Christianity. 9999hair out0000

Reflective observation.
From the dawn of Man, he continually maintained an awareness/embrace of the spiritual;
its degree being largely a function of his religious attitudes, impulses and sensibilities.
The quality of the Art he created, be it in Architecture, in Literature, in Music,
in Portraiture/Sculpture; among many disciplines, is mute testament to that reality.
Then w/the 18th century Enlightenment, a new reality dawned as material betterment
rose to the forefront of Man's sensibilities; an attitude on full display ever since.
The quality of the Art produced since that period as well as the condition of Religion
in the modern world are mute testament to this reality; which Man is none the better for!!!

Once again, I present my "American timeline":
2019 - USA (United States of America)
2027 - USSA (United Socialist States of America)
2035 - USSSA (United Soviet Socialist States of America)
2042 - ????

Seems to me the author has this backasswards. Taxation and debt are the foundations of socialism. I quit reading after the title.

@rangerrebew

It is my OPINION that they are embracing Islam for the same reasons they embraced radical blacks and are now sucking up to the 3rd World "browns". They see them as ignorant cannon fodder they can use to kick off the civil war they need in order to be able to declare a state of emergency exists so they can then declare Martial Law and suspend the Bill of Rights.

Once they do that they OWN America outright because THEY will be the only ones with the authority to announce the emergency has ended and restore our rights,and why would they ever want to do that?

I disagree. I think that unless there are radical changes in our immigration laws that America will cease to exist around 2030,and be replaced by a creature named "The North American Economic Zone",which will be composed of Canada,the US,and Mexico.

The corporate board that runs it will answer to "World Wide Government,Inc" that will be based somewhere in Europe. Probably somewhere like Geneva,and we will all be cogs in the World Wide Government,Inc machine.

Not that there will be that many cogs. I am positive one of their very first moves will be to reduce population numbers via forced sterilization of "undesirable people" and outright starvation of whole populations of other people.

This will serve the dual purpose of reducing the threat to their rule as well as eliminating unemployment  and helping clean up the environment. People that live and work in cities won't be allowed to own cars,and will be forced to live like the Soviets,in apartment blocks close to where they are assigned to work. This way they can all ride buses to work. Production will also drop due to a lower population and less demand,but that is not important to the leadership because power is better than money,and as the old saying goes "in the land of the blind,the one-eyed man is king."

No,all of this won't happen overnight,but it WILL happen and it will happen as soon as possible because the sooner it happens the sooner what few survivors can begin to forget "what was" and get with the "what is" program.

Alas Sneaky, this prognosis of despair may indeed be our future.
Cultures/societies get the governance they tolerate and deserve.

@Absalom

There is a possibility that I am probably not the most devoutly religious poster here,but doesn't the Bible say "The Lord helps those who help themselves"?

Which can be taken both ways,as  the globalists are most certainly helping themsevles. "We,the people" seem to be the only slackers when it comes to looking out for ourselves.

The founders might be rethinking the idea of "taxation without representation" had they known what rates might be possible via "taxation WITH representation."  We were supposed to be a republic for that reason, but democracy and its utter disdain for individual rights is usurping all vestiges of republicanism.

The super rich do not object because they operate on a global level, outside the authority of the USA or any other government.  It is the middle class that is being duped, big time, by politicians who trample one another in their attempts to find constituency groups to pay off for votes.

One last point.  Most of the spending on "social welfare" is going to senior citizens, who by and large are much richer than average Americans.  Social Security and Medicare go to places like Oro Valley, AZ and The Villages, FL.  These are hardly economically disadvantaged areas.  The idea that government spending realigns wealth disparity is a complete misnomer.  If anything, the federal government is making the rich richer and the poor poorer through Medicare and Social Security.  It might well be the biggest culprit of all in promoting wealth disparity in the USA.
