Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez said Tuesday the DNC was prepared for Republicans to lie, cheat, steal and suppress the vote to win the White House back in 2020.

Perez made his dire warning on MSNBC while discussing his public call on Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel to "join me in condemning the weaponization of stolen private data in our electoral process." McDaniel has released a statement calling for American elections to be safeguarded and criticized the hack of DNC emails by the Russians in 2016, calling it an "affront to all of us."

Fill-in host Joy Reid fretted that President Donald Trump would engage in dissemination of stolen materials again, although the Robert Mueller report exonerated the campaign of conspiracy with the Russians.

These people truly don't wish to be part of a democratic form of government anymore.  They want a one-party state.

Reminds me of the first time congress met after Newt and the Republicans took over control for the first time in decades. Newt made a proposal,and a long-time prominent Dim congresscritter stood up to complain and said "You can't do that!" When Newt reminded him that he and the Dims had been doing that for decades,his face turned red with anger and he said "That doesn't mean YOU can do it!"

Probably, although their reaction in 2016 was much worse then their reaction in 2000 and 2004, and I suspect it would be even worse in 2020.

Actually, I expect much more violence/mob tactics by leftist activists against Trump campaign rallies this year -- worse than we saw in 2016.  And I think that may bite the Democrat nominee in the butt when it comes to the actual election.

The Democratic competitors for the nominations are generally going to fellate the hard-core progressives in the party because that's where the activists are.  And it's not just a matter of getting votes -- it's that the activists will disrupt the political rallies of those same Democrats if they are perceived as being insufficiently hostile to Trump.  Whoever the eventual nominee is, he/she is going to be forced into taking extreme anti-Trump positions.  And that has the potential to alienate the swing voters who decide elections.

I suspect that you're right.  It used to be that the leftist violence came from "union thugs".  Now they're called Antifa.  And the leftists are even more desperate now than they've ever been.  As Gaffmaster Biden said.... 'gird your loins'.
