Remains of unclaimed military veterans honored, buried in Texas

(Tribune News Service) — The remains of 17 American veterans unclaimed for burial in Amarillo were sent off to their final resting place in San Antonio during a memorial service on Wednesday at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial.
Officials said the service stemmed from the Missing in America Honor Mission, which endeavors to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed cremated remains of American veterans through the joint efforts of private, state and federal organizations while providing honor and respect to those who have served this country by securing a final resting place for forgotten heroes.
