Climate Change Activist Admits: Being Green "Requires the End of Capitalism"

03/22/2019Ryan McMaken

Well, at least they're now being honest about it. A headline this week in The Guardian reads: "Ending climate change requires the end of capitalism. Have we got the stomach for it?"

The article, by Phil McDuff, goes on the discuss the "Green New Deal" currently being peddled in the US Congress, and declares a radical turn toward socialism is really at the heart of saving the planet from climate change:

The radical economics isn’t a hidden clause, but a headline feature. Climate change is the result of our current economic and industrial system. GND-style proposals marry sweeping environmental policy changes with broader socialist reforms because the level of disruption required to keep us at a temperature anywhere below “absolutely catastrophic” is fundamentally, on a deep structural level, incompatible with the status quo.

Prior to the advent of market capitalism, most of humanity lived in utter poverty, characterized by filth, disease, starvation and early death.

But at least it was "green".
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Such is the nihilism of most under 30: humans are a plague on the planet, and deserve to die.

So true. The "Enlightenment" and the "Industrial Revolution," have improved lives in living standards and in health.

The Green New Deal is being brought to you, by a guy that eats dirt, by a guy that takesw his mom to see Deep Throat, by a gay man named Buttplus, by AOC asking to destroy air travel, etc.

And something tells me that even Republicans may be able to counter this nonsense.

In 1800 most of the world's population lived closer to the way they lived in the year zero than they do now.
I would guess few people have a grasp of how superior their lives are now compared to past generations.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Some of the best money the KGB spent was on 'donations' to Environmental organizations back in the early 70s, specifically to cripple Western Industry.

It's working.

The bicoastal stupidity of not using our own resources is spreading to the areas that produce those resources, carried by people in black robes and maniacs who will break things to justify banning them for having been broken.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

"Ending climate change requires the end of capitalism"

Changing the climate was NEVER the goal.

Changing the political/economic system ALWAYS was their goal.

"Climate change" = social CONTROL = communism.

Yep. Let's hope we can resist that change in the political climate.
The Earth will do just fine, even if humanity enters another Dark Age.
