Two clips from animated movies, both directed by Brad Bird.

First, from The Incredibles, Dash Parr finds out just how fast he can run:

He just found out something that would cause most people to lose it. He reveals his understand that hes slow, that hes been totally conscious of it the whole time and hes afraid his son will face the same challenges.

The look of relief. Then just approaches the kid.

One of my all time favorite scenes.  Gary Oldman as Drexel - True Romance.

WARNING:  LANGUAGE EXTREME

Gary Oldman is the greatest actor of all time.

(Trivia: Without looking it up, what role did Val Kilmer play in that movie?)

The backdrop to this, is that Prez. Mean Idi Amin's motorcade struck a water buffalo, a cow and President Amin suffered a minor injury. This is the first time in the movie, he met this doctor.

Too many movies, too many scenes, if others are like me, there might be even some stuff we like that we might be embarrassed to tell others. Some movies are just so famous and known by everyone or almost everyone, to those, I think Braveheart, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, to me, the whole movie is memorable.  Yep, too many movies, some are too intense now as opposed to say 40 years ago..

Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argo_(2012_film)

I don't know about others but I saw Argo close to when it first came out... the CIA agent it portrays, Tony Mendez, recently passed on.. January, 2019... I didn't realize and it would be easy to miss in watching a movie in a theater how the opening trashes America's role in the pre-Mullah Shah-ruling  Iran, 1953-1979, as shown above.  I've said for quite a while, going forward, we just need to be as fair as can be always, when possible.  It's no wonder, the other side, can exploit past deeds, when we are trying to do right in Venezuela for example.  And Venezuela really needs help, Rwanda needed help but no one came... so it's a two sided coin.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Mendez

In fact, Ben Affleck, main star, producer or director of the movie, probably did put some anti-Americanism in this; and maybe it could be defended. He makes the Shah sound terrible in this opening.

Watched "Hud" again yesterday. Great movie. One of Newman's best. Newman was  a liberal, but he didn't shove his politics in your face. Also fantastic performance by Patricia Neal who proved you can look very attractive/sexy without a lot of makeup or taking your clothes off.
