Alice Johnson is a genuinely warm story. Trump gets credit for showcasing her and the criminal justice reform law.

It’s a farce. This wasn’t a case of some kid buying a nickel bag. She was laundering money and running tons of cocaine to Tennessee through Texas via the cartels. This is one of the reasons Trump says we need the southern border wall. Besides, the clemency for a ‘first time offender’ is coming from someone who, a year ago, had previously advocated capital punishment for dealers.

76 percent approved of Trump's State of the Union speech

A clear majority of people who watched President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night liked what they saw.

According to a CBS poll, 76 percent of American viewers approved of the speech. However, the same poll said only 56 percent felt that the speech helped to unite the country, and just 33 percent said they think Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., will work more closely together after the speech.

When broken down by party, almost all Republicans, 97 percent, said they approved of Trump’s speech, and 82 percent of independents said the same. Only 30 percent of Democrats, however, say they approved.

In the poll, conducted by YouGov, 72 percent of the 1,472 surveyed said that they viewed Trump’s points on immigration favorably, and 71 percent say that there is a crisis at the southern border.

Trump used his speech to say the crisis at the border demands a border wall, and vowed he would end up getting at least some of the wall built. Trump has threatened an emergency declaration to take control of funding needed to build the wall if Congress fails to give it to him.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent.

I broke up with a girlfriend, and she said I'd never find someone like her again. Her particular crazy did not make me enthusiastic about letting anyone else hurt me as intimately again, but more bizarrely she thought I wanted some one like her, even while I was breaking up with her.

I have never voted rat.  I have voted for a GOP majority that spent 6 years on dozens of Obamacare repeal bills under Obama...and zero since Trump and his GOP majorities were elected in 2016.  Along with continued funding for PP...despite a marvelous performance by Trump tonight, pointing his finger at abortion loving rats. it's just words.  like The Wall.

I don't have to vote and it sure won't be for Trump, but I doubt I could bring myself to vote rat.  I'm not going to argue that a group of women are not white hood wearing dumb bitches, cause it's not my party.  It's not my flavor but I gotta wonder why the GOP has trouble attracting women?

I'm glad the GOP isn't solely and tunnel-visioned 'focused' on race or skin color and ""gender"" as criteria to vet the representatives in their party.   You should be glad too.  After all... it could always be a lot worse.  Watching last nite's performance from the white-clad idiots wrapped in a moron was a clear example of how much worse it 'could' be.

Yeah, well.... vetting candidates on their qualifications can't and never will be able to eliminate those folks that are "pretending" to have Conservative values.   Unless or until there is a vetting process that includes mind-reading and/or lie detection....

I though he gave quite an impressive speech actually and I was glad that I decided to tune in.  He kicked booty tonight.  He has accomplished a lot in the 2 years he's been president and he has 2 more years till his term is up.

He sent a clear message to the DEMS; it is time to come together for the sake of the country and the American people.  America watched.  The DEMS need to listen.

 I'm hoping that at least some of the DEMS watching heard what was said.  I'm hoping that they saw the lack of applause from their DEM politicians when the president was speaking of human life, hardships at the border and maybe even thought about the men who clearly sacrificed so much for the freedom that they have.

As for the DEM politicians, that's a whole different ballgame, and yes, they are as smug, arrogant and corrupt as ever and you are correct, it unfortunately just may get very bloody before its all over. Something some of us have predicted for quite some time.

Former ESPN host Jemele Hill deleted a tweet in which, describing what a Democratic lawmaker should say at President Trump's State of the Union address, she jokingly referenced a phrase uttered by an assassin before Malcolm X was gunned down in 1965.

It all started when Showtime’s Desus Nice tweeted that he would like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., to interrupt Trump’s speech by yelling, “Whose mans is this?”

Hill, who famously called Trump a “white supremacist” in 2017 before her exit from ESPN, is now a writer for The Atlantic. She responded to Nice with her own vision fof what the freshman lawmaker should shout.

Going into the second half of his first term the President has an enormous uphill battle.  Last night was his best chance at showing the American public exactly how unwilling the DEM party actually is in helping the country. 

IF the President and his administration are able to turn the table on the Russian investigation onto the DEMS and continue to show the 'craziness' of the DEM party, he may very well succeed at being re-elected. 

I will admit, last night he handed me a glimmer of hope.  Hope that I didn't have prior to watching him speak.
