@mystery-ak About Hannity: "But he (Hannity) noted that Trump could allow another shutdown when the deadline arrives next month, or if a deal does not emerge he could declare a national emergency to circumvent Congress to build a wall, as the president suggested Friday. “
I think the president also kind of has a heart,†Hannity said. “He knows that this is tough on a lot of the furloughed workers.†Trump cares nothing about the peons who work for him. I think it was an airport today in Washington, D.C., not having enough employees to get aircraft off the ground, that made him stop the shut-down. That airport meant something to him - get the peons back to work so my airplanes can fly.
You know I live in Texas.
I don't see today's problem as meaning he will never get a wall. There is now a commission by whatever name, with representatives of both parties, to work on an acceptable immigration policy/money/barriers/etc..
Unfortunately, it seems when there is a deadline for something, they start on the work the day before the deadline.
I know there are places on the Texas border that need a wall/barrier/whatever. There are other places that do not need one such as a tall sheer cliff at the water's edge that no one could climb (don't send me pictures of people climbing up cliffs). Get the specialists who know what barrier needs to be where, how many border agents they need, drones, etc., etc.. and start it. Train new border guards, just start somewhere because if one never starts, it never gets done.
If this group doesn't put together something both parties will accept, and Trump shuts government down again, it will be total destruction of his presidency - he should not close down government again. Hopefully he will listen to someone who has enough sense to know he should not shut it down. It appears right now, Ann Coulter is president.
