I saw this on TeeVee:  the Senate would also have to pass a resolution, and it's subject to Filibuster.  Dems won't go for that either.

IMHO, being a constitutional scholar is similar to being a biblical one. There’s always something new to learn, interpret, and cross reference. It’s a lifetime pursuit and I am not very well-versed in either.

Need more proof Democrats aren't taking shutdown negotiations seriously?

- First they voted again to not pay federal workers during the shutdown
- Now they’ve canceled votes on Friday & are leaving town before noon on Thursday as federal workers prepare to miss another paycheck

The Constitution says the president has to inform Congress about the State of the Union. It doesn’t mandate where or how.

So ... in essence couldn't he address both chambers of Congress from the oval office??
