Poll: Support for 'Medicare-for-all' fluctuates with details
Associated Press, Jan 23,2019

[...]

The poll found that Americans initially support "Medicare-for-all," 56 percent to 42 percent.

However, those numbers shifted dramatically when people were asked about the potential impact, pro and con.

Support increased when people learned "Medicare-for-all" would guarantee health insurance as a right (71 percent) and eliminate premiums and reduce out-of-pocket costs (67 percent).

But if they were told that a government-run system could lead to delays in getting care or higher taxes, support plunged to 26 percent and 37 percent, respectively.

"The issue that will really be fundamental would be the tax issue," said Robert Blendon, a professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health who reviewed the poll. He pointed out that state single-payer efforts in Vermont and Colorado failed because of concerns about the tax increases needed to put them in place.

Nice Poll.

Too bad the AOC crowd won't pay any attention to it.

I’m not surprised

People love free anything until it costs them
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

This was the same  dynamic during the era of HillaryCare.  It started out having majority support. But as it made it out into the public arena and both sides made their case, it not only lost support but the Democrats lost the House of Rep

We’re probably going to see the same dynamic in this case. Right now it’s simply a concept

What do people use for brains?

It took them awhile to look at the Who Is Going To Pay For It of Hellary Care.

And then by just saying we'd take it out of Medicare instead, they gotta get back on the pony and start the learning curve all over again.

Well, the general public has a short attention span. That’s why this is a constant battle and not a “well we won the election therefore our work here is done.”

So do numbers.
Fifty-six percent.
That means something.
Can you guess what it is?

They mind me of gambling addicts/Losers who love telling you they're so well known at Casinos the places comp them to a room.

I know of someone back in the 90's that would go to Vegas and take a significant gambling loan out when they arrived and would get comped shows, fancy rooms and food and then when they left they reliably paid the loan completely back. They didn't gamble. They got lots of free stuff. Back then the casinos had no way to track what you did with the money. Now they give you plastic "credit" cards and can track exactly what you do so this scheme is no more... They did it for many years...
