Political analyst says Trump's base would 'go to war' for him if impeached

Political analyst Bill Schneider said in an interview that aired Tuesday on "What America's Thinking" that President Trump's base would "go to war" for him if he was ever impeached.

"If you want to see the Trump base solidify and go to war, talk about impeachment," Schneider told Hill.TV's Joe Concha on "What America's Thinking."

"That will get them solidly behind Donald Trump, just as it happened with Democrats in 1998 when [former President] Clinton was impeached," he continued.

"That will happen to Trump if they impeach him," Schneider said, referring to Trump's Republican base. "It will rally his base."

Schneider's comments come as some progressive Democratic members of the House have floated the idea of impeachment.

However, the party's leaders including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have said impeaching Trump will not be a priority for the new Congress.

 "I do think that we want to be unified and bring people together. Impeachment is a very divisive approach to take and we shouldn’t take it ... without the facts," Pelosi told MSNBC last week.

Republican Representatives and Republican Senators know Trump is not normal, is dangerous to this country.  I think they will vote for impeachment but will not say that until it is time for a vote.

That's funny.  I don't remember Democrats being in lock-step support and behind Bubba Clinton after the Monica Lewinsky affair and after his lying under oath.  However did I miss that...?

Mueller has never come forward with any inclination, proof of evidence as to any Trump/Russian collusion.

So what do you categorize as normal?  One that is proposing border security so that illegals, terrorists, drug cartels, gangs and gun runners are curtailed from entering this country or those that refuse to give funding for border security??

I would really like to know what you feel are "their" grounds for impeachment...Mueller has nothing on him.  If he did, he would have come out with the proof of evidence long before the mid term elections.

Perhaps you feel that Pence would do a much better job??  Orrin Hatch?  Pelosi??
