The 'Californication' of Virginia
By A.J. Rice

Ole Virginny is no more.

Like most states the vast majority of Virginia’s 95 counties went red last week — typically by margins of 2-1 or more.

In several cases, by margins of 3-1.

For example, in Franklin County, outside of Roanoke, Republican gubernatorial candidate Corey Stewart cratered Democratic candidate Tim Kaine by 67 percent to 31.6 percent. In Washington County, not far from the state’s western border, it was even more of a blowout: 70.2 percent to 28.5 percent.

Scott County gave Mr. Stewart a staggering 77.5 percent. This was typical.

So why was Hillary Clinton’s 2016 running mate — Mr. Kaine — elected governor by 56.9 percent to 41.2 percent?

Because of Northern Virginia — which is just as blue as the rest of the state is red.

Northern Virginia is nothing less than a suburb of NYC.  Friends who live there tell me all of eastern Virginia is turning,also.

There is just no excuse whatsoever for electing a weasel like Tim Kaine,no matter who you are or who is running against him. If he were running against Satan,Satan would be the lesser of the two evils.

The only hope is for Conservatives to run as Democrats. We have to quit running strictly as Republicans or Independents.

@Restored

I agree,but it ain't going to happen because unlike the Mushy Moderate leftist Bush-Bot/McLunatic "Republicans",the Dims ain't so welcoming. They run a tight ship,and no one that isn't a globalist is going to EVER get any party support,and will find a well-financed Party Pod opponent running against them in the primary.

The Dims spotted this weakness in the Republican Party back when Reagan was President,and exploited it by having Dims switch parties to stay in office with their blessings. They well-understand it is about agenda and the final goal,not party affiliation. Hell,AFATG,no one in the party hierarchy is am actual Dim.  They are global fascists.

Corey Stewart was chosen by the Democrats. They all crossed over to vote for him, seeing him as an easy to beat. It can be done.

This isn’t a new trend.  Virginia has been trending this way for years, with the north—a suburb of DC—and Hampton Roads in the east both growing in population.  And Richmond.

I live in the central part of the state, where we’re still red, but that’s just temporary.  This area is exploding, and a lot of the new residents are from northern states.

Meanwhile we pick clown candidates like Corey Stewart and expect to win elections.

The big problem is potential good candidates just don't want to get involved.   It's political "White Flight".

Walker lost.

Ted Cruz got just 51%. Jeff Sessions' seat held by a democrat.

It is the Californication of America.

Women, immigrants and minorities reject GOP policies and people.
Trump may be the last Republican President.

Make America Mexico Again

The GOP has lost by two ways, over immigration

--By insulting some Hispanics

--By letting some conservatives down, with talk of, but no wall.

My Hispanic classmates, fall into both camps.

@dfwgator

That’s definitely a factor.
