The troops will not engage in lethal operations to stop the migrants, CNN reported.

Provide fencing?   So.... what?   The military is going to start building a fence while the hoard streams through?  No lethal force?  Does anyone really think this will work?   Seriously?

IOW, more of the same old crap.  I haven't read the articles yet, but I'll bet they're going to be National guard, so Governors of "Blue States" can veto the use of "troops" from their states, like California.

A couple hundred "support personnel" has been done before, and we already know it's not enough.

ETA:  I read the articles.  Mattis not saying where the "troops" are coming from, so I strongly suspect I'm correct:  Not Regular Army, but National Guard.  SSDD.

Based on that I'd say the troops were going to be used to truck down tents, food, blankets, and supplies to house the invasion army while they create the illusion that they are 'processing asylum seekers' while they just let them all loose inside the country as they have done now for years.

So Trump is NOT going to actually secure the border, just create the illusion that we are properly and humanely handling the invasion army.

LOL. This place is a clown show. First everyone bitches that Trump isn't sending troop to the border. Now everyone is bitching that the troops being sent are not publicly announcing they are going to shoot and kill people. After the shooting starts everyone here will be bitching about how bad the optics are of them shooting people.

You know perfectly well that what needs to be done is to close and seal the border, period. Something your hero said he was going to do.... but isn't.  Just like nearly everything else he said he was going to do, but didn't.

No one wants people shot and killed, but we damn well better demonstrate that we are willing to do so in the face of an invasion.  So far we have demonstrated that we will do as Europe has done because that is our policy too, to have no borders and let the scum of the third world in to live on our tax dime and outbreed us so they can vote for the communism all of them are already conditioned to live in.

We either close and militarize the border in this orchestrated invasion, or the global Leftists win as we confirm to the world that we are a nation without borders to a welfare state.

We had M-14s but no ammo or bayonets. That was at the Pentagon on Oct. 21, 1967. Our company of combat engineers cleared the steps of the group that broke through a thin line of MPs.

Our not having ammo was the right thing.

I think they can do a lot.  If they go to the border right now, they can make illegal crossing a whole lot more difficult for the invaders.  If the deployment is leisurely, they will be able to do a lot less.  We probably won't be given a lot of detail, except for what the Rats leak.
