Perverse House Dem Threatens Trump. Says It’s Illegal for Trump to Stop Illegals by Hurting Home Countries

This is one of the best examples of the left’s seriously messed up set of priorities you may ever see, and probably one of the best reasons anyone would need to vote Republican in the November elections.

Democratic Rep. Eliot Engel of New York’s 16th Congressional District has really gone out on a limb to help the left shake things up before Election Day.

The president has said he would cut off foreign aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras if they aided or failed to curtail the caravan of illegal migrants headed toward the United States.

If they aided them, that one thing.

But punishing them because they "failed to curtail" emigration, that's ridiculous.

I guess I'm too old.  I remember when we were horrified at the Berlin Wall.

It is also self-defeating.   It is conditions in these countries that drives so many to leave.   Cutting aid won't help those conditions.

I doubt that the aid the US is sending those countries does much for their citizens given the corruption in their governments.

If you are too clueless to tell the difference between a wall that holds people IN, under the tyranny of Socialism....vs a wall that prevents illegal entry INTO a sovereign nation. Thats a you issue.

I guess you're too clueless to understand that we're talking about a wall to keep people IN Honduras, @Mesaclone.  But thanks for participating.

Exactly.

Why should we be punishing Honduras for not building a wall to keep their people in?

??? Really?  Just ask the residents of Guatemala, Venezuela, Mexico, Honduras, etc.  We've had an open border policy for so long that they all feel that they're entitled.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Its odd you'd interpret the situation that way.

Most of us realize we're punishing Honduras for allowing huge caravans of Hondurans to form and violate the sovereignty of its neighbors.

Wasn't the point of the Berlin Wall to keep the Germans in Russian controlled East Germany from travelling to free West Germany? In other words keeping Germans from travelling freely in what was a once homogeneous country. I don't think it's a fair comparison, the division of a country by a wall, with the defending the borders of a sovereign nation.

I believe Europe was much better off before they went to their open borders fiasco, funny though how Americans still need permission to enter :pondering:

I think I will try discourse without insults. If I misunderstood the premise of the article them I am remiss. I on't think any country should prohibit it's people from leaving, but I also believe that a country has a responsibility to it's neighbors, a difficult balance I agree. I don't think it is out of line for our President, of either party, to use economic carrots and sticks to protect and promote our interests. If we had an effective border wall/ border security in place and didn't have members of government actively working to eliminate our border and promote uncontrolled invasion from our south, we wouldn't be in this situation. In my opinion, we at this time need to use whatever we can, no matter how draconian, to stop this invasion and head off future ones.  These counties will not ever do anything effective to stop their people from violating our sovereignty for two main reasons, it reduces their own problems by lowering population and increases their coffers through remittances  from their citizens illegally living in and leaching off America.

The irony is that the Iron Curtain more or less saved Central/Eastern Europe from the hordes of Turd Worlders, that plague France and Germany today.

Exactly.  How many times have we seen aid in food and water not distributed by corrupt governments.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
Every sovereign nation has the RIGHT to protect its borders from illegal invasion, including the USA.

I am 2nd generation on my father's side, my wife is a legal immigrant, so I believe in immigration.  LEGAL IMMIGRATION.  I consider every illegal invading foreign national to be a criminal, and should be deported immediately upon arrival.  With 330 million people in our country, I think we still have the right to decide as a nation who comes here verses the invading illegal aliens.

The wall must be built for many reasons.  It is overdue, and anyone standing in the way is just NOT for the American people and should be removed from office.

I think Trump should freeze anyone entering the USA for refugee status, and I think Congress needs to amend our laws for immigration ASAP, and to create laws that render ZERO RIGHTS for anyone entering the USA illegally.  I support 100% a CATCH AND RETURN POLICY, immediate return.  If we return these invaders immediately, they will stop coming.
