My prediction is that Flake will not vote "aye".
He will vote "no", or perhaps just "present".
Once more, I'm going to repeat (and I wish someone reading would at least try to refute me):
If the votes "aren't there", DON'T VOTE NOW.
Instead, McConnell should use his earliest opportunity to force a recess of the Senate (assuming he has the power to do so, not sure).
Then at that moment, Mr. Trump should recess-appoint Judge Kavanaugh to the Court. He will (at that very moment) be a "Justice of the Court" able to sit and hear cases.
McConnell should "keep the vote in his pocket" until after the elections and hold it as one of the first orders of business in January 2019.
FLAKE WILL BE GONE.
There will probably be 2, 3, 4 (maybe even more) brand-new Republican senators looking to "validate their worth" to the party. My guess is that each and every one of them will vote to confirm.
And they will render the votes of the weak sisters Collins and Murkowski un-needed.
Let them vote "no" if they wish. No one will care.
That's the way to "get 'er done".
Are you listenin', Mitch?
Can't anybody here play this game?
