Initial U.S. jobless claims fall by 2,000 to 210,000 in mid-August

New claims declined by 2,000 to 210,000 in the seven days from Aug. 12 to Aug. 18. Economists polled by MarketWatch had forecast a 215,000 reading.

The more stable monthly average of claims slipped by 1,750 to 213,750, the government said Thursday.

The number of people already collecting unemployment benefits was barely changed at 1.73 million. These are known as “continuing” claims.

Obama's economy is holding strong.

Of course.

I think we've gotten to the range where the willing and able are mostly employed. Further gains may be slow in coming.

As is evident is certain liberal run city's where the intersection grifters are still clinging to their cardboard signs....
