Mollie Tibbetts possibly spotted at Kansas City-area truck stop last week, police say

A missing Iowa college student who vanished two weeks ago may have been seen last week in the Kansas City area, police said Wednesday.

Kearney, Mo., police said 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts, who’s been missing since July 18, was possibly spotted eight days later, July 26, at a local truck stop near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Highway 92, FOX4 Kansas City reported.

“Officers conducted a thorough search of the area, spoke with all possible witnesses, and reviewed all available video footage,” a police statement said. “A report was sent to the investigating task force regarding this possible sighting.”

This may or may not be credible.  When a person goes missing, police get reports of sightings sometimes all over the world.  But every report had to be checked out.

Praying that she will be found soon.

Investigators say they have concluded that a woman spotted in northwest Missouri was not a missing Iowa college student. Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation special agent Mike Krapfl confirmed Thursday that the reported sighting of Mollie Tibbetts wasn't substantiated and has been ruled out by investigators.

heavy.com had a story that this might be similar to another abduction; all of that is somewhat gloomy, I hope she is found safe soon.

This story has been out since yesterday or maybe Tuesday.  I hate to say, I don't feel good about it right now.....but if one reads the article, they have talked to some people there in Iowa.

These rewards sometimes generate valuable information.  More often than not though, they bring out kooks, pseudo-psychics and anyone looking for free money.  And a huge chunk of taxpayer dollars go into tracking down every possible lead, many of which are dead ends.

Personally, I think she's dead and despite claims he was miles away, I still suspect the boyfriend.

If she didn't run off with some guy, then, yes, it usually means they are dead.  8888crybaby   Holding out for hope.

New Tip Emerges: Suspicious black SUV spotted the night Mollie Tibbetts disappears, says neighbor

A woman who lives in the same neighborhood that University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts disappeared from says she saw a “suspicious” black SUV creeping around slowly, down the street.

FOX News reports that the woman immediately reported the incident to the FBI when they questioned her about Mollie’s disappearance, but the information wasn’t shared with the public by authorities. She said she spotted the vehicle on July 18 between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. The driver reportedly drove so slowly that it alerted the young woman, who lives just a block away from the home of Mollie’s boyfriend, Dalton Jack, in Brooklyn, Iowa.

Molly was dog-sitting at Dalton’s house on July 18, while he apparently traveled out of town to work in Dubuque at a construction site. Dalton’s brother, Blake Jack, who shares the home with Dalton, said he was visiting his fiance in Ames, where she works, on the night Mollie vanished.

So, Mollie's brother shared a house with Dalton Jack, the boyfriend.  That seems to make the boyfriend a bit less suspicious.

Also, note,  one person of interest, Cheney, refused a lie detector test from the FBI, they searched his house too and found nothing. Maybe it would be smart to refuse a lie detector test under most circumstances. I don't know. You could be innocent but sucked into the matter.

I think they ought to consider giving the lie detector tests to the boyfriend and his brother...

I saw a picture of the parents, I only remember how the father looked. I kind of wonder, if she could be adopted Asian from the picture in the article above. Then, her brother might not be her blood brother. This is all speculation on my behalf. I could be totally wrong in reading it this way.

The father of missing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts said on Monday that he believes his daughter may be with someone who misunderstood her intentions and created a situation that's spiraling out of control.

"It's totally speculation," Rob Tibbetts told ABC News, "but I do believe that Mollie is with someone who she knows, probably someone who cares about her. But that relationship was misguided, misinterpreted and went wrong, and I think they're in a place with Mollie and don't know how to get themselves out of this horrible situation."

Pig farmer questioned over missing student reportedly refuses to take polygraph test
By Chris Perez
August 6, 2018 | 11:11pm

The Iowa pig farmer who was being grilled by cops about the disappearance of 20-year-old college student Mollie Tibbetts was asked to take a polygraph exam on Monday, but he reportedly refused.

“I don’t need to,” said Wayne Cheney, speaking to the Des Moines Register.

â€œIt’s stupid,” he added, noting once again how he had “nothing to hide.”

The Poweshiek County pig farmer has uttered the statement repeatedly since being thrust into the spotlight last week after cops revealed that they had questioned him multiple times.  ...  Full story at New York Post

Certainly his right to refuse the polygraph, but he should know that his refusal makes him look like he has something to hide.
