Mayonnaise Ice Cream Exists and the Internet Is in Flames
« on: July 28, 2018, 01:20:56 am »
Quote
In this day and age, nothing is off the table for ice cream flavors.

Gone are simpler days of chocolate and vanilla, because it’s 2018 and innovators are experimenting with flavors based on pizza and New Jersey’s beloved Taylor Ham pork roll — both of which are apparently pretty good.

Alas, one creamery in the U.K. may have taken things too far with its latest frankenfection: mayonnaise ice cream.

But mayonnaise ice cream?
That sounds like something crawling out from a grim castle on a stormy night. But, indeed, ICE artisan ice cream in Falkirk, Scotland, is selling the bizarre ice cream.

The shop posted a photo of the unusual flavor to Instagram captioned “Who knows a mayo addict?” and some people are losing their sanity.

Just stick the damn jar in the freezer if you’re that messed up.  Why ruin ice cream’s reputation?

Maybe if you add a little tuna fish to your topping it would be OK................  :tongue2:

That ought to sell well in the great white north.  Mayo is the national condiment up there.

Well, Sonic came out with a pickle slush.
My 7 year old grandson loves the thing.
He would.
Whenever he comes over to visit, I have to buy extra pickles.
He likes to snack on them a lot.

This really should be in "ridiculous news of the day"; all kinds of bizarre stories can be posted, a bear doing this or that and etc.

I love kosher pickles, but a slush?  Nope.

Me, too. I like pickles.
I didn't taste the slush, but my wife did.
She said it does taste like a pickle.
The grandson is definitely one of us.
His Uncle, my son, was that way as a kid, also.
He'd rather eat a pickle than a candy bar.

I have been on the hunt For Years for Real sours!
They just don't have them in the stores anymore!

If you're old enough, you'll remember the old general stores that had the wooden Pickle barrels that had The Sourest pickles you could ever wish for!

I Thought that I had found some store stocked ones when Publix Markets came to town.
After all, on their website they had a picture of a jar and what row they were on!

They didn't and to this day, still don't have the ones pictured!
(See the small print that says: original sour dill?)

@RoosGirl

In a microwave?

That's about as far as my "making" skills will take me.

I believe that a company (online) called "Picklelicious" has what I am looking for but with shipping costs ... I would be paying almost $3.00 a pickle! :nono:

I suppose you could bring the brine to boil in the microwave. It’s basically measure water, salt, and vinegar then bring to boil. Dump over cucumbers with whatever flavor enhancers you want: dill, hot peppers, garlic, etc.
