LOL! Well, it oughta work in Texas and in the west. Down South you might need to use 'whockerjawed' which I think is a close comparable.  :beer:

Somewhat the same is true in country navigation instructions...

Ya go down the old dirt road until you git to the old church that burned down by lightnin, then you hook a left. Go on down till you git to the big forked oak and make a right. Soon you'll see that place where Homer Dean kilt that deer last year and you know you're close. Keep going past the old store and look for a mailbox on the left. Look close cause it's buried in some honeysuckle vines. When you see it, turn on the driveway for a mile or so, and there she be. The old house yalls is lookin fur.

When I was younger I used to do deliveries. When I got off the highway and got lost, this was typical for the kind of directions I would get.

I am guilty of that myself. It is more true here in the Rockies than elsewhere, because all navigation is by landmark, handrail, and backstop. Direction is nearly useless, other than in the general sense.

And just to add to the fun, I often refer to businesses that have been long gone, or renamed for decades.

"You go on up to the Buttreys over yonder, right across from the Roy Stanley's... and head out toward Fisher's place"

Well, yeah that's right... But Roy Stanly Chevrolet hasn't been there since my first kid was born, and the Buttreys has been an Albertson's for about 15 years... And the Fisher's moved off half a lifetime ago.
