As predicted, Trump's executive Order already is being attacked as illegal by Democrats, who say that putting children into detention with their parents violates a Court Order.

This was exactly what Trump knew would happen.  He is eventually going to be ordered to release those children -- separating them from their parents -- by a court.  At that point, the Democrat true agenda -- catch and release for parents -- can no longer hide behind children.  And that's where Trump is going to draw the line.

I hope you're right.  Trump is not totally immune to political reality and this was not a hill to die on.

It probably wasn't just Melania I am sure Ivanka was probably vocal also.  Bottom line is that we know that so far every time it counted Trump caved.  Family separation was the biggest and only deterrent since the invasion of our country began.   And it was done professionally and humanely.

It was a great thing zero tolerance and with a stroke of the pen it ended.  Did it satisfy the left?  No, only open borders will do that.  And here in Washington all of us taxpayers are strapped with paying legal fee's for illegal aliens.

Well just like the liberals I have a goal too.  Donald we know that you can rule by EO.  Please sign a new one to remove all families immediately upon processing so that we do not have to pay to imprison them or provide lawyers for them.

I have news on this morning.  Media has celebration faces on.  What's the next victory?

@Chosen Daughter   I believe you may be mistaken.  Trump does not cave very often.  In fact, almost never.  In this instance, he was aware of the political reality that this issue was resonating with a wide variety of people who had no idea of the true situation.

I think he made a wise decision to eliminate this part of the equation in order to reach his goal.

If you are going to base your opinions on 'media celebration faces' you need to re-evaluate.

That will indeed be the outcome - except this time Trump will have the cover of a court opinion for detaining the children separately,  assuming there are no other family members to care for them.   And at that point Trump will have the leverage he needs to force Congress to get off their partisan, irresponsible asses and act.
