Amber Kornak had just started her dream job researching the fearsome animals when she was mauled by one on a remote mountain range this month.

She managed to fend off the creature using Mace-like bear spray, then walked nearly two miles to her vehicle.

I been on Poorman Creek back up in the Cabinets...

Glad she made it... Tough woman (and she earned me saying that).

I like to watch Alaska State Troopers.  They always carry a bear gun when they go tramping into the woods.

She was taken from behind as the story goes... So not a whole lot of options in that... But even one point-blank round from a 45/70, no matter where on that bear, is gonna tend to level the playing field... If not, well then that's what the hog-leg is for.  :shrug:

This story reminds me of the touching and heart warming 1977 classic Day of the Animals staring Christopher George and Lynda Day George where Leslie Nielson goes insane, takes off his shirt off in a rain storm and fights an angry grizzly bear....

I just read (and @Cyber Liberty and @txradioguy) can probably attest, he had a great face (voice) for radio and was very successful.  But the guy couldn't act for beans.

This is why.

In my high school days would spend a month or two surviving on a match in the Pintler and Bob Marshal then the Army opened up whole new opportunities in SE Asia. To be honest ..I'll take the wife to cuddle and its no body's business what else.. :shrug:
