Neighbors say they reported parents before deadly plunge off California cliff

Police are trying to learn why an SUV they believe was carrying a family of eight plunged off a cliff in Northern California. Jennifer and Sarah Hart from Washington state and three of their kids were found dead at the scene but the other three children are still missing. Police found the family's vehicle Monday after a passerby spotted it at the bottom of the cliff. Authorities don't know what caused the crash but they believe all six kids, who were adopted, were inside the car and none were wearing seat belts, reports CBS News' Anne-Marie Green.

Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman said there were no skid or brake marks where the Hart family's car plunged 100 feet off a cliff. According to police, the SUV pulled off on a dirt turnout and then traveled about 75 feet before going over the cliff's edge, and into the Pacific Ocean.

Some family friends describe the Hart's as tight-knit, but others noticed problems. Bruce and Dana Dekalb, who lived next door, said they worried about the kids.

I haven't read the whole account of this story, but the couple raising the children are "Lesbians". Also, the above photo is a "famous" photo per nationwide Ferguson protests.

At least one of the children (I believe it's the boy in the photo) had visited neighbors, repeatedly asking for food. Another told someone she was being abused by her "loving" co-mothers. As for the famous photo, I wonder if the boy wasn't hoping the cop would protect him from his moms.

The couple last year purchased a home in suburban Portland with two acres of property, but their only source of income (reportedly) was the gubmint benefits they received for having adopted these six children. A sad story, all around. The children deserved better than Thelma and Louise.

And the government was chomping at the bit to award these children to them. These children are causalities in the culture war.

... Jennifer navigated the 2003 GMC Yukon XL onto a dirt turnout, and there are no signs of skid or brake marks at the scene before the car drove off the cliff. The scene is confusing, they said, because it just doesn’t make a lot of sense. CHP Sgt. Christopher Dalin said: “We don’t know if it rolled over the edge or if it launched over the edge.”  ...

Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman said the car had to cross a wide expanse of gravel between the road and a dirt berm in order to even reach the cliff, Press Democrat reported. That means the car had to travel 75 feet over a dirt pullout before going off the cliff. ...

... In 2011, Sarah Hart pleaded guilty to domestic assault against one of her daughters, KGW8 reported. A teacher called the police in Minnesota in November 2010 after she saw a six-year-old girl with bruises on her stomach and back.   ...

There are plenty of images of this family available... apparently another of the media's 'Potemkin Villages'.

Of course they'll move right on to the next one without a word.

Inside the Hart family home, police search reveals debts, contradictions
By The Oregonian/OregonLive | Posted August 31, 2018 at 06:44 PM
By EVERTON BAILEY JR. and MOLLY YOUNG

The police search of the Hart family home, days after a March crash off the northern California coast presumably killed them all, turned up few indications that six children were being raised there. The home contained only one twin bed for them.

Nearly half the family’s income in most recent years came from money designated for care of the kids, all adopted out of foster care in Texas, an analysis of recently released records by The Oregonian/OregonLive found.

Investigators couldn’t figure out where the children slept in the Woodland, Washington home, the new records from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office show.  ...

Jennifer and Sarah Hart, parents of the six, lived beyond their means, and aspects of their lifestyle diverged widely from what they presented publicly online, the records show. ...

An Oregon doctor who examined the children in 2013 found that nearly all of them were so small they were off the growth charts for height and weight. ...

Police hoping to find clues later discovered chest freezers in the family’s home filled with lunch meat, tortillas and copious amounts of bread. ...

The family’s living situation didn’t always match what Jennifer Hart wrote about in prolific posts on Facebook. She regularly discussed the family’s vegetarian lifestyle, once posting a photo of Sierra smiling as she held a bunch of kale bigger than her head.

Clark County investigators in March found the family’s fridge stocked with hot dogs, ham, large packs of chicken breasts and a large roll of ground beef. The freezer held corn dogs, frozen tilapia and pizza snack rolls.

A close friend told The Oregonian/OregonLive weeks after the crash that Jennifer Hart did not drink, but Sarah Hart did occasionally. Police photos show 17 bottles of wine displayed on kitchen counters.  ... Read the full story and see photos at OregonLive
These women were nuts and used these unfortunate children as a cash cow.  **nononono*

Those poor kids never got a fair shake in life.  The LGBT community has higher rates of domestic violence than the general public.  Even they admit it: https://www.advocate.com/crime/2014/09/04/2-studies-prove-domestic-violence-lgbt-issue] https://www.advocate.com/crime/2014/09/04/2-studies-prove-domestic-violence-lgbt-issue

"If You See Something Say Something"....but only if they're Christian conservatives.

If anybody had said something, they'd have been smeared as "homophobic."

Hart family crash: Remains found on nearby beach identified as daughter Hannah
By Associated Press
Jan 09, 2019 | 5:00 PM

Human remains found on a Northern California beach belong to one of the six adopted children killed along with their parents when their mother intentionally drove their SUV off a cliff, authorities said Wednesday.

The remains of Hannah Hart, 16, were found shortly after the March 26 crash, but the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department had trouble identifying them until her biological mother called from Mobile, Ala. in October. She was responding to a request from investigators for family members to come forward and help with the identification process.

The woman’s DNA sample matched the teen’s remains, the Sheriff’s Department said.

All six children are believed to have died in the crash, though the remains of 15-year-old Devonte Hart still have not been found. ...  More
