Stormy Daniels's Lawyer Says She Can Prove Her Trump Claims

The attorney representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Trump said on Friday that she has proof to back up her claims.

“We have substantial evidence and facts that were not included in the complaint,” Michael Avenatti, Daniels’s lawyer, said on CNN’s “New Day.”

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Daniels says that just days before the 2016 presidential election, Trump and his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, attempted to silence her by having her enter into a nondisclosure agreement to prevent her from coming forward and talking about the year-long sexual relationship she says had with Trump beginning in 2006. In return, Daniels was paid $130,000 — a payment Cohen says he facilitated.

"I am confident that when that evidence and those facts come to light, the American people are going to conclude that attorney Cohen and the White House have not shot straight with them on this issue,” Avenatti said.

Avenatti was also asked why, even if everything he says is true, the public should care about a decade-old affair.

“Because coverups matter,” he said. “You have attorney Cohen claiming Donald Trump never knew anything about this. You have the White House claiming Donald Trump never knew anything about his. That’s going to be shown to be patently false.”

I'm thinking there's something going on behind the scenes here.  Maybe when Trump needs to knock something off the front pages he has her speak up, and in return shes gets publicity for her, uh, career.

I know if I took a $130K bribe to shut up, I'd most certainly stay shut up.

What's interesting to me is the arbitration took place in California.  That's likely due to the swift process in the state.  Trump's former divorce attorney, Jay Goldberg said that he was part of the definitive NDA case in NY and Daniels would lose.  Problem is, he's basing that on NY law and the case is being challenged in CA Superior Court, where the arbitration occurred.  We know how selective CA can be with interpretation of laws when they're not fond of someone.

I'm a little confused.  Since when have US presidents been held to the standard of "no previous (much less current) extra-marital affairs"?   Has that standard just now been implemented with the election of Trump?  How is this, even if true, even an issue???   :shrug:

Can't imagine a billionaire, which I am certainly not, banging some random chick. You have to be kidding me. The whole idea of being a billionaire is that you can go overseas and bang anything you want anonymously. That is the perk of being rich. I just don't understand people, what it is that makes them think they will never be caught out.

Me and women have a great relationship. I fly overseas to get rid of whatever urges may occur, and they leave me the hell alone. My experience with banging what is called normal civilian women has been a mine field and cost me a fortune. No more of that.

I would think that Trump would know better. Do not bring a woman into your life unless you are battle ready and girded to the hilt. They will screw you. They will. Somehow, some way, they will screw you. You have always be ready to screw them first.

Good to learn about your ignorance NY and CA are different states with different laws and that CA judges have ruled against Trump on the travel ban and DACA.

Michael Avenatti, who provided the emails to ABC News, alleges that the use of Cohen’s Trump.org email further supports his position that Trump was aware of the payment to Daniels whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford.
