Hey.....that’s not as easy as you think.  One summer, we did our drills at Ft. Eustis and the ticks were really, really bad.

Ah "Fort Useless"  The Air force's F-Troup!

j/k   I am sure the summers are very nice near Newport News!    Do they still have the signs up that say Dogs and Sailors keep of the grass?

Hold this guy accountable ... at the very least, take his pension.   9999hair out0000

Well he might need that pension money to pay out wrongful death lawsuits.

This corrupt wise assed Sheriff down there said he was happy the chicken cop took his retirement in a press conference. The way he said it basically said that as far as he is concerned the matter is closed and it is back to pushing gun confiscations.

For all I know they will throw him a retirement party before he leaves.
How the H3LL do you go out in public after letting kids and faculty die like that? Seriously I couldn't live with myself know that I could have sone something to prevent at least part of that tragedy.

That was supposed to have changed after Columbine ;(.
That is what I thought too.

Maybe those officers guarding his house are really there on a suicide watch?  Or maybe not.

It is silly as can be to rely on anyone to protect you.
Nine times out of ten, for all the systems, plans, and manpower, LEOs will arrive too late to save anyone, and likely to late to catch the perpetrator.

I know. A shocking truth to those in suburbia who are guarded more by numbers and statistics than any of their systems.  Thus the impenetrable herd mentality.

Country folks are not shocked. Reality remains, day to day. That is why we require, and in fact, insist upon,  the means to defend ourselves.

Contemplate that before angling for more useless gun controls.
Yet the libtards like my wife's family insist that more gun control laws are the be all end all answer.

Now, let's see if Sinead O'Connor Jr and her merry band of activists go harangue this man and call him a murderer, like they did with Dana Loesch the other night.

I look at her and I'm thinking, "Fourteen in the side pocket."

I’d have to ask my dad.  He still lives in the area and goes to the exchange and commissary on base.  He thinks he’s saving money by driving 70 miles to get gas, make ATM transactions at the credit union for free, and shop without taxes.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

That was my first thought too.

Maybe our feel good story for the weekend will be a little Suicide By Cop in this guys front yard.

I thought of that too. But, especially with the powerful Police Union, his pension may be protected from being attached. They may not be able to get to it especially for wrongful death issues.

However, they should be able to get other funds and assets even if they can't get his pension. It is clear that his retirement will be spent in litigation of one kind or another.

FYI on his pension.  Peterson had been the resource officer at Douglas High School since 2009 and made a base annual salary of $75,673.72 as of 2016, according to sheriff’s office records cited by the Sun-Sentinel newspaper.

That base salary, however, doesn’t include longevity and first-responder bonuses that probably brought Peterson’s non-overtime pay closer to $80,000, according to Bell.

Peterson’s pension will be 75 percent of the average of his top five earning years while on the job.

You can laugh, but these are situations where robo-cops can be used. A robo-cop won't be afraid of not doing it's job, and nobody will mourn if the robo-cop gets killed/disabled.
Here's another situation where a human leo arrived in time to very possibly stop some of the killings but waited until all the shooting was done i.e. many kids killed before he acted.
We can criticize AI for taking jobs, but maybe it's time for AIs for a number of police jobs including this one.  I have no idea how close we are to having a robot that can effectively simulate an armed leo, but I hope they're close.
Anyway, we use drones now to kill terrorists. Might as well use them to kill/disable bad people here.

Interesting idea. Government employee unions would no doubt oppose it, however.

His pension and the sheriff's salary is the true blood money the activists should be screaming about.  You can tell, however, this community is circling the wagons around the department and MSM outlets are providing cover.

It would seem that if we let the robots take over...the next mass shooter at a school will be a member of the Computer Club or the robotics team who would have the skills to hack the system controlling the mechanical cop.
