Almost certainly not.
The switch (which probably has a high-security RR lock) was locked open.
You can't do it without the proper key.
Ok just that was the first thing I thought of when I saw that the switch had been left open that sent it onto the same track as the parked freight train was possible sabotage.
Since you're the SME on trains around here I just wanted to make sure.
