Trump goes after Kasich at RNC dinner: report
By Julia Manchester - 02/02/18 08:18 AM EST

President Trump on Thursday ripped into Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) multiple times at a Republican National Committee (RNC) dinner in Washington, D.C., according to Politico.

Trump reportedly made fun of Kasich and referred to the Ohio governor as one of his loudest and most relentless critics.

Reporters covering the event were reportedly escorted out just minutes after the dinner began.

The Hill has reached out to the White House, Kasich's office, and the RNC for comment.

I can't think of many more deserving of going after myself.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

The fact that Kasich dropped out of the Presidential campaign immediately after Cruz was quite telling.  Kasich had no chance of winning at that point but he did serve to detract from Cruz.

Yes, but he and Trump have similar views of federal grants to states for Medicaid.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Im shocked that you would post something so murky, unclear, even muddy such as that.

I was surprised he didn't mention that both Trump and Kasich have, in the past stayed at a Holiday Inn.

Indeed, they have much in common.

What’s unclear?  Kasich was happy to take federal $ for Medicaid coverage under Obamacare.  The block grants to states Trump had proposed are basically the same.  The difference is the money would be given directly to the state for administration, streamlining the cumbersome process of reimbursement.

Some of you people really go out of your way to misunderstand things.

Kasich received the third highest number of votes in the 2016 Republican Primary, finishing behind President Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Kasich was responsible for the last US govn. balanced budget.  He is a fine man and a Christian who lives his Christianity.

He was also a supporter of the assault weapons ban, though he’s been good with OH gun laws.  I don’t mind his faith, but I did mind that he used those views to make the state government a taxpayer funded charity group.  That’s not government’s role.

Of all the things that Trump could deservedly go after, he chooses Kasich?  Whatever.

Although Kasich has been pretty consistently sniping at him from the peanut gallery, you're right its probably time Trump starting ignoring the pygmies.

Is this all Trump knows how to do -- pick a target and constantly ridicule it?  I don't like Kasich's politics either, but really, why is Trump wasting time and energy going after him?  Kasich is really no threat to him.   Just ignore him.

I should think the President of the United States would have far more important things to be concerned about -- North Korea, for example -- than the Governor of Ohio.

No matter that Kasich is no actual threat to him.  Kasich hurts his widdew feewings, so he must respond with his typical, juvenile venom.

Kasich is a mixed bag.  He's not the villain some make him out to be, but he's got some pretty far left ideas at times.

No matter, it's a waste of time for Trump to bash him.

But Trump spends a heck of a lot of time bashing when his feelings get hurt.

:bs:  Kasich is quietly mounting a challenge to the President in 2020.

Besides, the President does not suffer fools gladly and Kasich has earned all the "trashing" that comes his way.

And, the only way Kasich could be an actual threat would be if he appears to be calm and sane next to the guy who's already in the job.  I don't think Kasich appears calm and sane, but he could in contrast appear that way to many potential voters.

I don’t have much to offer here except this: I really enjoyed the gif of Kasich juggling fruit during a debate. Still makes me laugh.

Anyone who is openly mounting a challenge against Donny is a threat. Now is the time to stigmatize him and insure his irrelevance before he starts raising money and getting a campaign started.
