MSNBC’s John Heilemann: Ryan no longer on 'Team USA' but on 'Team Nunes'
By Josh Delk - 02/01/18 08:02 PM EST

MSNBC's John Heilemann said Thursday that House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is no longer on "Team USA" but on "team Nunes" for his support for the release of a classified intelligence memo on possible surveillance abuses by the FBI and Justice Department.

"It has clarified the extent to which Paul Ryan is now no longer on ‘Team USA’ or on even ‘Team old Republican party,'” Heilemann said during a panel discussion. “He is on ‘Team Nunes,” which means he is on ‘Team Trump’ which means, to some extent, they are all advancing, in some sense, the interests of Russia."

Hey Heilemann. What's up with your pal Halprin? Haven't seen him around much.

Just noted something odd.....

Heilemann, a national security analyst for the network....

Can anyone tell me what a hack journalist knows about national security?

Career

He is the author of a book, Pride Before the Fall, about the Microsoft antitrust case. He has been a staff writer for New York, Wired, and The Economist. He was the host of a four-part documentary series for Discovery called Download: the True Story of the Internet, about the rise of the World Wide Web, which first aired in 2008.

He is the co-author (with Mark Halperin) of Double Down and Game Change, books about Presidential campaigns. He and Halperin co-hosted With All Due Respect, a political analysis show on Bloomberg Television and MSNBC. Heilemann is also producing and co-starring (with Mark Halperin and Mark McKinnon) in Showtime's: The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth, following the presidential candidates behind the scenes of their campaigns in the 2016 United States Presidential Election. Heilemann is also an occasional guest on the Tony Kornheiser Show.[4][5]

Funny. He hasn't even taken a ride along with a beat cop to show he knows anything about national security.
