DOJ files motion to dismiss Menendez indictment

The Justice Department moved on Wednesday to dismiss charges against Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) after a federal judge tossed out several charges against the lawmaker last week.

"In light of the Court’s January 24, 2018 Opinion and Order and pursuant to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 48(a), the United States of America moves to dismiss the Superseding Indictment," Annalou Tirol, the acting head of the Justice Department's public integrity division, wrote in a motion to dismiss the indictment.

U.S. District Judge William Walls moved last week to acquit Menendez and his co-defendant Salomon Melgen on seven of the 18 charges they faced in their corruption and bribery trial.

Department of Justice?

Riiiiiiight.

Should just rename it The Department of Social Justice - and dispense with the charade that any of the Alphabets are interested in anything but protecting the Oligarchy and destroying their political enemies.

While at the same time democrats are mewling on about how  'gee I hope you'll go easy on Flynn' is obstruction of justice and Trump ought to be thrown out of office.

This is our own Mr. Jeff Sessions at work. How is he any different from Holder/Lynch? Oh yeah. I forgot. He hates MS13 and pot. OK. Got it.

Folks, stop and remember the circumstances of WHY Menendez got prosecuted in the first place.

You do remember, right?
How he dared oppose obama -- I think it was something about Cuba?
And... how not long afterwards... he was indicted.

The "just-us" department you mock above (run by the obammunists) would NEVER have touched Menendez, so long as he had "toed the line" for the great imposter.

But Menendez went off the reservation. And so... he had to pay.

The current administration really doesn't care about that falling out.
They're weighing the case (and their chances) on reality.
And that's why they let 'im go...

Aside:
I'm sometimes surprised about the short memories 'round here!

I was unaware that Menendez had “gone of the reservation”.  I didn’t know that he was the Dem raising hell about Obama and Cuba in mid-December 2014.  He was indicted April 1, 2015.

Wow.

While looking at his record, he’s a certified POS, but it does help me to understand why the Dems are able to keep their people in line.
