Free Hope & Paris, a $19.90 value w $10 purchase +Free
Shipping w $20 spending not $30 until Sunday midnight —

Our Sunny Paris offer is part of our celebration of the 75th anniversary of Casablanca. It may well be the best love story ever, but it's also a roadmap for fighting the totalitarianism now taking hold of the Republican Party in America today. In love there is hope, and hope is the only force capable of beating the despair that allows fascism to take hold.

I get emails, lots of them. Some people have a hard time getting their heads around what standing up for humanity has to do with being a Spice business. And I get that this answer won't make sense to everyone, but what standing up for humanity has to do with being a Spice business is pretty much everything. Cooking is where we learned our humanity. Through cooking we came to understand that strength was not driving others away, strength comes from welcoming others in. Up until a year ago that's how America worked, too.

The good thing about Nationalists, Fascists, Nazis and their like is that they are never in the majority. The bad thing is that they are pretty good at demoralizing the majority to the point where they can seize control. What hope means in times of despair is also everything. The origins of our Embrace Hope pin go back to well before the time that publicly supporting the equality promised to all by the US Constitution was seen as supporting one party and attacking the other. Originally this was to be a plaque we placed above the doors to our stores.

Growing up, I had the rare opportunity to witness the incredible diversity of Cooks. Early on I understood that whole caring about others at the heart of cooking really does cause Cooks to live lives that are so much more than average. At some point I ran across that line from Dante’s 14th-century poem that describes the entrance to hell as bearing the inscription over the door: “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.” For me it was a eureka moment. Cooks never abandon hope, they embrace it.

So we worked together, and what started in the wood shop at work ended up at our kitchen table in our home where Jeri and our kids brought it to life. This pin is awesome. Get one today. To see the pin closer click this link: https://www.penzeys.com/online-cata…/embrace-hope-pin/…/pd-s

Sunny Paris is a go-to blend great for vegetables, chicken, and fish. Once comments start appearing below I'm pretty sure you will see how many fans there are for Sunny Paris on eggs of any style. To see Sunny Paris click here: https://www.penzeys.com/…/sunny-paris-seaso…/c-24/p-276/pd-s

In our stores, to pick up your choice of $9.95 value Sunny Paris jar, or $9.95 value Embrace Hope, spend $5 and get your choice; with $10 you can get both. In our stores, just mention this post and spend $5 or $10.

Visiting us online at penzeys.com this weekend, with $5 in spending use your choice of “94056C” for the Embrace Hope pin, or “15453C” for the Sunny Paris. With $10 in spending you can use both. Just enter the codes into the apply code box at check out. No need to place either in your basket, the codes will do that for you.

No code needed for the free shipping with just $20 in spending rather than the usual $30. This offer is automatic for everyone, so please tell a friend. And finally, there’s no code needed for the good prices on the Regular Chili Powder and Minced Garlic. Both are awesome, especially the Garlic. Give it a try if you can.

And please be ready for a time when we will have to Embrace Hope more than ever. The coordinated Republican attack we are seeing right now against the first amendment’s guarantee of a free press and against America’s dedicated law enforcement agencies is a clear indication that there is a lot more about to be revealed than simply vague meetings with Russians that went nowhere, and states’ voting databases being hacked for no reason.

The desperation of these attacks on the press and law enforcement are the signs of a party in great fear of the public learning the true extent of its actions. They are labeling the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s support of the Republican Party as un-American. This is a party fighting for its life. Good chance there will be times where many find themselves in despair ahead. You’re a Cook, Embrace Hope instead.

Thanks for reading,

Bill

bill @penzeys.com

And as always, if you do like what we are doing please like our page and share this post with friends and family who might see the value in it. Free shipping with just $20 does make it easy for first timers to give us a try. And both the Sunny Paris and the pin are really nice. -Thanks.

Burger King also decides that political commentary is a good way to sell product, bashing the FCC's recent net neutrality ruling.  Uh, no. I no more need their sandwiches than I do Penzey's spices or Scott's vests.

Edit to add: I see @Suppressed has posted a thread on Burger King.

I have purchased a few spices from the Penzey catalog.  They also have some stores. The quality of the product is good.  Nevertheless,  I will not buy another spice from this whack job.

I don't go out of my way to boycott products I like even if they're run by a leftist nutjob, but the facts are there are numerous products of almost equal quality out there to buy.
I like Ben and Jerry's, but there are many other brands that cheaper and about as good.  In something like food or clothes there are so many brands that are nearly equal in price and quality, it's nothing short of stupid for a business big shot to insult half the possible customers.
The Koch Bros. support numerous right wing causes, but I don't read or hear them insulting liberals.  If they're doing it, maybe someone here can alert me to where they're doing it.

Probably because of their support for liberal ideas, despite their political donations.  They’re both pushing a DACA deal and aren’t particularly keen on reforms.  David Koch has voiced support for abortion and gay marriage in the past.

Besides, their industries are diversified.  The only things that you could really boycott of theirs are paper towels, dixie cups, and stainmaster carpet.  It wouldn’t make a dent.

Penzeys says its sales spiked following CEO's anti-Trump statements
By Melanie Lawder  –  Reporter, Milwaukee Business Journal
Dec 2, 2016, 1:28pm CST   Updated Dec 2, 2016, 2:43pm
https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2016/12/02/penzeys-says-its-sales-spiked-following-ceos-anti.html

The general consensus in the business community is that business and politics don't mix, but one Wisconsin company is turning that logic on its head and profiting off strong, left-leaning statements sharply criticizing President-elect Donald Trump made by the company's CEO.

Wauwatosa-based Penzeys Spices is apparently cashing in big time thanks to peppery anti-Trump comments Bill Penzey, the company's CEO, made in November after the presidential election. The manufacturer and retailer of spices said in an email to customers Thursday that — in the two weeks since Bill Penzey said that all Trump voters "just committed the most racist act" since segregation— sales have skyrocketed regardless of the political firestorm that was wrought.

According to that Dec. 1 email sent to customers, online sales are up 59.9 percent and gift box sales are up 135 percent since those remarks. Apparently, customer loss — even though there were promises of boycott on social media in protest of Penzey's comments — wasn't much of a problem for the spice maker.

I get weekly emails from Penzey's Spices ever since I bought their fantastic 'Chili 9000' bottle of spice.  Love their roasted garlic powder too.

This guy is over-the-line.  The emails are getting more and more political.

Updated Woke Alert Business Buzz

Penzey’s Spices learns the hard way… Loses 40,000 customers…
Spice Company Who Called Republicans Racist Loses Massive Number of Customers

Penzey’s Spices, the Milwaukee company that held “Republicans are Racist” sale on Martin Luther King Weekend, is now dealing with a massive loss of customers and is begging for new business.

“After starting the year with Republicans are Racists we’ve set a nice little Boycott Penzeys! surge in motion,” Penzey’s CEO Bill Penzey said in an email to customers Friday. “It certainly wasn’t unexpected, but if it’s within your means, you picking up a small stack of Gift Cards would help.”

Penzey admitted that the “Republicans are Racists” email cost his business 40,000 subscribers, roughly three percent of the total. As a result, Penzey’s is offering a gift card sale “with the hope this might make it a bit easier for you to share some and possibly get a few good new customers to replace the ones we’ve lost.”

While Penzey claims that news coverage of his anti-Republican rant brought in 30,000 new email subscribers, he adds that “we are still down about 10,000. Please help.” His email then takes on a desperate tone, all but begging liberals to sign up for his email list as a way of virtue-signaling.

“If you can’t even begin to fathom how to ‘compromise’ with January 6th, or the Republican vaccine lies needlessly killing 10,000 Americans every week, if you have no desire to become half-way racist, and if their intent to destroy our climate for one thousand years to come doesn’t have you asking: ‘What if we just destroyed it for five-hundred years instead?’ we would be better off with you on this Voice Of Cooking email list,” he wrote.

Two weeks ago, Penzey wrote in a shocking email that Republicans are so racist that they fantasize about killing African Americans. “Remember how Republicans, going against a mountain of evidence to the contrary, once again lied and said BLM wasn’t a peaceful movement but instead terrorists inciting violence throughout the country and then raced out to buy a crapload of guns because maybe they were finally going to get their chance to shoot a Black person?” he said in his email to customers. “What a bunch of racists.”

Amid the firestorm over his that screed, Penzey bragged to the Daily Mail that we has not worried about a potential loss of customers because so many new ones would start buying his spices.

Spice company learns the hard way about the wisdom of going 'woke'
By Monica Showalter

Well, it turns out things haven't gone so good for wokester company, Penzey's Spices, which ran a 'Republicans are racist' campaign for .. I am not sure what purpose, it wasn't business.

According to Fox News:

Quote

A Wisconsin-based spice company that made headlines earlier this month when its CEO sent an email to customers accusing Republicans of racism is now asking people to buy gift cards after hemorrhaging tens of thousands of customers.

Earlier this month, Penzeys Spices CEO Bill Penzey renamed the extended Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend to be "Republicans are racist weekend" in a newsletter to customers. In the letter, he said his aim was to anger Republicans in honor of the late civil rights icon.

"Remember how Republicans, going against a mountain of evidence to the contrary, once again lied and said BLM wasn’t a peaceful movement but instead terrorists inciting violence throughout the country and then raced out to buy a crapload of guns because maybe they were finally going to get their chance to shoot a Black person? What a bunch of racists," the email said.

You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

Why am I always the last person to find out that I'm racist?
"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

My guess is it pissed off a lot of liberals,  too.  People with conservative relatives they love.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

Updated Woke Alert Business Buzz

Penzey’s Spices learns the hard way… Loses 40,000 customers…
Spice Company Who Called Republicans Racist Loses Massive Number of Customers.

“If you can’t even begin to fathom how to ‘compromise’ with January 6th, orif the Republican vaccine lies needlessly killing 10,000 Americans every week,if  you have no desire to become half-way racist, and if their intent to destroy our climate for one thousand years to come doesn’t have you asking: ‘What if we just destroyed it for five-hundred years instead?’

@IsailedawayfromFR

This guy is certifiably batshit crazy.

He obviously inherited the business, and the more he speaks or tweets, the closer he is going to come to losing it. Either the board will kick his ass off,or the doors will close.

BK has had some of the creepiest ads on TV in the past 20 years.  I don't know who does their marketing, but their stupidity has had to cost them countless millions over the years

@catfish1957

I am glad to see that I am not the only one creeped out by that huge Burger King dude/dudette . Gives off a more than faint whiff of child molester to me,despite the fact I can't put my finger on a single thing to that would prove it.

Doesn't matter. If he creeps me out,he creeps me out.
