HUD staffer apologizes for calling reporter 'Miss Piggy'
New York Daily News
Jessica Chia

An event planner who landed a job in the Trump administration apologized Wednesday for calling a White House correspondent “Miss Piggy” during a Twitter spat.

Lynne Patton, who heads a regional Housing and Urban Development office overseeing New York and New Jersey, called April Ryan of the American Urban Radio Networks “Miss Piggy” in a now-deleted tweet that also included the hashtag “BankruptBlogger.”

An hour later, Patton wrote, “I deleted my last tweet by choice. No one from this Administration contacted me. It was beneath me & I apologize to @AprilDRyan.”

Ms. Patton could stand to skip a few desserts herself.
