Terrifying new software lets anyone use artificial intelligence to swap celebrity faces onto porn stars to create realistic sex tapes – but lawyers warn that doing so could be illegal

A NEW face-swap app is helping pervs create fake celebrity sex tapes using actual porn footage – but legal boffs say using it could be illegal.

A detailed guide to creating the crude clips has been posted on a popular internet forum, making it possible for anyone to make their own versions.

What happens when someone figures out this porn app can be used to put innocent people into compromising situations? Someone in a messy divorce can have their spouse hanging out with strippers. Political opponents can have each other speaking at a Nazi rally. It is going to be a disaster.

While I don't like this, it will be relatively easy to spot imo.  IOW, no one will be fooled.

This tech is advancing pretty quickly. It's not going to be long until they have it perfected.

I agree the tech is advancing and will only get better with time.

But even when it's 'perfected' it still won't be hard at all to spot it.  Even if you don't bother with a forensic analysis of the video which will spot it in a heartbeat.  There are many factors that won't line up such as height, weight, birthmarks, tattoos and not to be crude but the size and shape of the penis or the size and shape of the breasts.

The video in your post is really remarkable, but I can spot differences between a horse and a zebra without a comparison picture to match it to.  Zebras have a much more pronounced barrel shaped abdomen than a horse along with a shorter muzzle to name a few.

And I don't believe anyone would get away with making one of these fake videos and trying to use it in a divorce.  Too many questions to be answered...  not to, once again, mention forensic analysis.  (that doesn't mean some idiot won't try though.)

I suspect this will stay in the porn realm or perhaps the comedy realm.

Not to mention the stripes that move across the horses face as it turns.

You know that cute neighbor who you have always checked out. Or, that checkout girl at the Texaco who is sizzling hot. What about you hot sister in law.

How would you like to see them do porn?

And a smart phone from 2008 can't hold a candle to what we have today. This tech moves quick. In a couple years you are not going to know the difference between the horse and the zebra. That is the point. There will be no reality anymore because you won't be able to discern it.

People will simply stop believing video "evidence" for the most part.

Security cameras and the like will digital signatures that can be used to detect tampering.

Then someone will hack the cameras and get them to edit the video before applying said signatures (or to sign edited video).

Katy Perry looks a little long in the tooth in that porn vid.

Hopefully it's Katy Perry before the lesbo haircut.

Sounds like someone needs to develop a new image file protocol that will contain real-time watermarks that will be hashed into the video data as it’s recorded and will cross reference other frames so that any break after initial recording becomes immediately apparent. Something like self-referential steganography.

That might actually be an idea.  If a block chain could be implemented in a video recording device so that the entire chain was proof of the validity of each individual frame.

With the caveat that I've only kind of glanced at block chain...

My thinking was that the device would distribute the video out to "the network" where other devices would "sign off" on it.  Then if someone tried to alter the video in the future there would be other, "verified" copies to use as counter-evidence.

If you put all the block chain into one device then anyone who compromises said device could make a fake and then self-validate starting at the point AFTER the changes were made.

Another thought I had is that porn could be "signed" and indexed for future search.  Then if someone inserted their neighbor's face onto a signed porno, there would be strong, easily attainable evidence that it was not real.  Of course, someone would have to watch the original porn and sign off on it.   Watch for my PornAuthCoin ICO coming soon.

Looks like somebody else has a better billion dollar idea. Better luck next time.
