Rep. Jordan: FBI Used 'Garbage' Dossier to Get Warrants 'to Spy on Americans' Associated With Trump's Campaign

House Oversight Committee member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said he is "convinced" that FBI officials used the salacious and false dossier about Donald Trump, paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, to get "warrants to spy on Americans associated with Donald Trump's campaign."

Jordan added that the FBI could clear up this issue "if they release the application that they took to court," but they refuse to do so [1]. It has been reported that former Trump campaign officials Carter Page [2] and Paul Manafort [3]were spied on in 2016 by U.S. intelligence agencies after the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA Court) granted warrants to do so.

I think this much is pretty clear.  The question is, what is anybody going to do about it?

Jeff Sessions had better get his butt in gear, or resign. It does not get any uglier then this.
If Jordon is right (and we all know he is) senior leadership at the DOJ and FBI needs to
be prosecuted.

Where is Jeff Sessions?

The President and the AG could ORDER the FBI to turn the information over to them or to others.

The FBI is NOT a government, unto itself, answerable to no one.

I believe the Congress SHOULD BE able to obtain this information.

If fake information was knowingly used by partisan political operatives, to disrupt the elected opposition, I believe it is a crime.

In Watergate several such figures, served prison time. (no, the crimes are not identical, but the intended result is quite the same)
