Yeah.... they were different. They weren't as glaringly/blatantly obvious about their leftist bias. They didn't whine and scream at the sky. They didn't openly call for the overthrow of a legally elected administration. Now... they are all quite literally 'out of the closet' and exposed for what they are and what they really represent, finally.
Totally true. They were just as liberal then but they were much slyer about it. Now, they don't even care anymore.
