Yup. Bush overhauling Social Security went like a dream because he had the MSM backing his solid leadership.
There was a guy before him - and his dad - that had the press and establishment against him. He brought us results, not an endless litany of complaints.
Incidentally, Bush 43 and Trump are in similar positions (minus a 9/11 event) in their first year. Both owned the primary and despite their faults, were considered better and essential over the other choice. Both won electorally and (by MSM standards) controversially. Both had congressional majorities. Both received daily derision from the opposition party and their media cohorts. I’d ask if you still have the spoon I bet you used to carry George’s balls around in during December 2001 to use on Donnie now, but you probably had to pawn the silverware during the Obama years.
Bush ultimately disappointed because he revealed himself as the New England blue blood we always knew his family was. Don’t be surprised when a lifelong NY liberal does the same in a few years.
